Before you vote Democrat (or just walk away)…

Cross posted from No Amnesty - Got It?

…to punish those wascally RINOs in the senate and that pro-amnesty dude in the White House, think about this. Giving the Democrats a majority will accomplish the following:

  • Assured amnesty for multimillions of illegal aliens. This is EXACTLY what the Democrat Leadership wants, a new minority group to own.
  • Social Security will go down the toilet because it will be extended to the new minority group by the Democrats. AARP is a Democrat drone, so don’t look for help there. They will toe the line and tell the silver hair crowd whatever MoveOn.org and DailyKOS tell them is the current party line.
  • Do you think the rebel RINOs didn’t pay attention to you? Guess what? The new Democrat majority will give you the finger too.
  • All assurances aside, by this time next year, Bush will have been impeached and removed from office (some say this is the only desirable side effect).
  • We will have to wait at least 2 years to retake the House, and even longer to do the same with the Senate. It might take another generation to undo the damage that the Democrats can inflict in that short period of time.

The thoughts of revenge and giving Bush and the RINOs in the senate a good ass-whoopin’ are tempting. [for their total disregard of citizens demands and the abject pandering to criminals that the senators and Bush did.]

Somehow we have to get the word out that the focus of this is the DEMOCRAT party line vote (39 of them) combined with 23 Republicans [in name only] to try to flush away the sovereignty and borders of the USA. The only fly in the ointment is the pseudo-conservative Republican president who is cheering all of this on. For all the high sounding words that spew from their mouths, none of them [Senate Democrats and Republicans] really give a damn about the safety and security of the USA, or they would have already done something about the illegal alien issue and securing the borders. Same for Bush. He has the example of how President Eisenhower handled illegal aliens 50 years ago. Instead, Bush says it is impractical to enforce the existing laws, forget about what the house passed. They all have stars in their eyes envisioning a glorious “North American Union” [Canada/USA/Mexico or CUM for short]. The citizens of the USA are the losers because this eliminates our borders and you can forget any good paying jobs staying here. Any manufacturing that does stay will have an all low wage work force, just like the maquilladoras in Mexico.

If the grassroots Democrats do not throw out their pro-amnesty representatives (House and Senate) then the country is lost. Democrats are the party of the ignoramuses who claim to be looking at who can give them the best deal right up to election day. When in doubt, vote for the yellow dog. Mostly they are too uninterested to learn anything about the candidates and just repeat the Democrat talking points. If the workers do not wise up, their union bosses and the willing management will have them all replaced by cheap alien labor. The union bosses are too deeply in thrall to the DNC and will do whatever they are told. They will get a cut of the wages of whichever group is under their thumbs, citizens or illegals.

The country’s welfare safety net is another point of concern. It was instituted to help CITIZENS in their time of need and it has evolved into a primary support for illegals after they hit this side of the border. Their usage of a citizen safety net dilutes and overloads available services for citizens. The income tax situation is rigged as a support system for them too. They get to file for the Earned Income Credit and get a refund with nothing paid in. Guess who is footing the bill for this? It beats me how this can happen but it does.

If you are a Republican, please do NOT stay home. If you can not bring yourself to vote for the anointed one(s) of the party, you can still do a write-in.

PLEASE exercise your franchise and vote. If you do not, then the next time, it might be the illegal aliens voting and taking away your rights!

Groups: Immigrants Without Borders AND Protect Our City

14 07 2006

Cross posted from DeMediacratic Nation

This is cute…

Phoenix Arizona July 14, 2006:

Group, Immigrants Without Borders is planning a little march in protest of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas for trying to use state conspiracy law if they use the services of a coyote, to charge illegal immigrants entering the U.S.

From Azstarnet.com:

A statewide immigration advocacy group is planning to march this morning outside the Phoenix offices of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and County Attorney Andrew Thomas.

Immigrants Without Borders said the march was in response to the officials’ efforts to charge illegal entrants with conspiracy to smuggle themselves across the U.S.-Mexico border.

Advocates have accused county authorities of misusing the anti-smuggling law, arguing that it is aimed at smugglers who are paid by illegal immigrants to lead them to the United States. The group’s leaders hope to start a dialogue with Arpaio and Thomas.

“We do not seek confrontation,” said Immigration Without Borders founder Elias Bermudez. “We want them to be part of the solution to a broken-down federal immigration system.”

Recently a judge threw the first attempt out of court because he felt it did not qualify as a conspiracy. I find it sad that it is only considered conspiracy if a coyote is involved. I don’t care if you illegally crossed the border alone, you had a conversation about it with yourself; for the purposes of our border security that is conspiracy enough for me.

In other news in the Valley of the Sun….

Leader of the group Protect Our City, Randy Pullen submitted 21,000 signatures in support of putting an initiative on the ballot that would require, according to The Arizona Republic:

Phoenix to “enter into an agreement with the United States Department of Homeland Security to designate police officers as immigration officers qualified to investigate, apprehend, and detain aliens in the United States.”

Danny Ortega, a Phoenix attorney, who is no stranger to Randy Pullen (Pullen supported and brought Prop. 200 to the ballot, which puts restrictions on benefits for illegals; Mr. Ortega oddly enough was against it), said:

“It’s explosive and dangerous. It’s an initiative that will endanger the safety of every resident of Phoenix . . . (because) resources that would go into fighting dangerous crimes would be also used to apprehend and process alleged undocumented persons.”

Phoenix police spokesman, Sgt. Joel Tranter said:

the extra responsibility would put a strain on police officers who are already extremely busy dealing with local issues.

I never understand this type of statement that comes from a police department. They oppose it as though every cop will be taken off their regular beat to deal with illegal immigrants. When it is just another piece in the weak arsenal we have in dealing with the plight of illegal immigration.

I applaud Sheriff Joe Arpaio and County Attorney Andrew Thomas in their “conspiracy” efforts. And of course Protect Our Cities.

Tarrant County League Of Women Voter Advocates Free Healthcare For Illegals

14 07 2006

Cross posted from Red Hot Cuppa Politics

So, while some Dallas hospitals are asking Mexico to reimburse them for massive expenses incurred for the medical care of illegal immigrants — the Tarrant County League of Women Voters wants to expand healthcare to illegal immigrants.

From Ft. Worth Telegram, StetsonTip Joe:

The Tarrant County League of Women Voters is joining another political advocacy group’s campaign to expand publicly funded healthcare to illegal immigrants through JPS Health Network clinics.

The group is expected to ask the Tarrant County Hospital District board today to reverse its position on charity care for illegal immigrants at JPS clinics. The board could consider the request at its August meeting.

The board voted in 2004 to restrict charity care to legal residents of Tarrant County. Illegal immigrants can still access JPS clinics if they have health insurance or if they pay cash for services.

“I think the public needs to be aware that JPS is a public hospital district, and there is a mission to the poor and low-income residents of Tarrant County,” said Charlotte Hyams, first vice president of the Tarrant County League of Women Voters. “We believe that JPS’ mission is to provide healthcare for the indigent, including the undocumented immigrants who live here.”
Under federal law, no patient can be denied treatment in an emergency room.

The JPS board voted 6-4 to prevent illegal immigrants from utilizing the network’s charity program, Connection, following an opinion issued by the Texas attorney general that leaves the decision up to hospital districts whether to extend such programs to noncitizens…

Although the issue is not on today’s hospital board agenda, members of Allied Communities of Tarrant and the Tarrant County League of Women Voters said they will ask the board to vote on the policy at the August meeting

A.C.T. is a coalition of church leaders. Their home page bids you “Welcome!” Or “Bienvenedo!”

The national League of Women Voters is co-ordinating with Telemundo to get out the Hispanic vote in the Tu Voto, Tu Voz campaign. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, as long as residency is a requirement for voting, unfortunately while they’re supporting election reform particularly in Ohio, I don’t see any provision on their website to actually check to make sure the voter’s a resident of the district. They also oppose the Patriot Act and drilling in ANWR, without publishing differing opinions.

Like many other organizations, looks to me like the LWM’s fallen a long way from it’s distinguished roots.

DeMediacratic Nation posts an excellent article on green card scams, pointing out again that the US media does not get the diff between immigrant, and illegal immigrant. Morning Coffee notes an effort by John Cornyn to end “catch and release” — which Harry Reid’s already opposing, with a point of order (which will mean it doesn’t even get debated). The Uncooperative Blogger has a round-up of Colorado’s new immigration bill, some recommendations for President Bush, and a synopsis of Karl Rove’s (unfotunate) remark’s to La Raza. Senate Rejects funding for Border Fence (Roll Call Votes included)

14 07 2006

Cross posted from Morning Coffee

The past few weeks the Senate seemed to be moving closer to the House bill on Immigration and Border Security. That sadly, is not reality.  Yesterday the Senate voted to kill an amendment to fund the border fence by a vote of 71 - 29.  I guess many of these Senators took lessons From Hanoi John Kerry… I voted for the Wall before I voted against it.

From The Washington Times

Less than two months after voting overwhelmingly to build 370 miles of new fencing along the border with Mexico, the Senate yesterday voted against providing funds to build it.

”We do a lot of talking. We do a lot of legislating,” said Sen. Jeff Sessions, the Alabama Republican whose amendment to fund the fence was killed on a 71-29 vote.

Roll Call Vote on the ammendment

“The things we do often sound very good, but we never quite get there.”  Mr. Sessions offered his amendment to authorize $1.8 billion to pay for the fencing that the Senate voted 83-16 to build along high-traffic areas of the border with Mexico. In the same vote on May 17, the Senate also directed 500 miles of vehicle barriers to be built along the border.

But the May vote simply authorized the fencing and vehicle barriers, which on Capitol Hill is a different matter from approving the federal expenditures needed to build it.

Senator Sessions offered another amendment, which appropriated another $85.7 million to enable Homeland Security to hire 800 more full-time investigators to probe immigration-law violations. The vote against that amendment was 66-34.

Role Call on that ammendment

Kris Kobach, who was a counsel to the attorney general under John Ashcroft, told a House subcommittee last week that one of the most unusual aspects of the Senate bill is a provision — slipped into the more-than-800-page bill moments before the final vote — that would require the United States to consult with the Mexican government before constructing the fencing.

”I know of no other provision in U.S. law where the federal government requires state and local governments — every state and local government on the border — to consult with state and local governments of a foreign power before the federal government can act,” he said.

”Now, from my experience as a Justice Department official, when we had consultation requirements with the State Department, just getting two agencies in the executive branch to consult took months or years,” said Mr. Kobach, now a professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. “If you add this, three levels of government and a foreign power, your delay” will never end.

These two votes, the provision requireing consultation with Mexico before building any type of border security fence, and the restrictions on state and local law enforcement to prevent the detention and or arrest of individuals suspected of being here illegally clearly demonstrate that the Senate’s focus here is not on National Security. They should all begin searching for new careers.

Senate Fails the “Sessions” Test

14 07 2006

Cross posted from CommonSenseAmerica

Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama harshly admonished members of the Senate yesterday telling them that the amendment he offered to fund the fence at our southern border, as agreed to in the Senate, should not be rejected.

He asked the Senate what kind of message it will send to the American people after watching the Senate recently vote to build a fence on the border only now to see them vote against funding the construction of that same fence.

If I had been in the Senate, I would have acted like an obnoxious schoolchild trying to get noticed, with my hand waving furiously, to answer his question.

What type of message will it send, Mr. Sessions? The same message our elected officials have been sending us for decades; they are NOT concerned with what the American people want or need.

From the Washington Times:

Less than two months after voting overwhelmingly to build 370 miles of new fencing along the border with Mexico, the Senate yesterday voted against providing funds to build it.

“We do a lot of talking. We do a lot of legislating,” said Sen. Jeff Sessions, the Alabama Republican whose amendment to fund the fence was killed on a 71-29 vote. “The things we do often sound very good, but we never quite get there.”

Mr.

Virtually all Democrats were joined by the chamber’s lone independent and 28 Republicans in opposing Mr. Session’s amendment to the Homeland Security Appropriations Act. Only two Democrats — Sens. Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Thomas R. Carper of Delaware — supported funding the fence.

All told, 34 senators — including most of the Republican leadership — voted in May to build the fence but yesterday opposed funding it…

Senator Jeff Sessions didn’t stop there. He decided that he was going to further test our elected officials.

…To prove his point, Mr. Sessions offered another amendment, which appropriated another $85.7 million to enable Homeland Security to hire 800 more full-time investigators to probe immigration-law violations. The vote against that amendment was 66-34.

I think this last section of the article further exposes what our lovely Senate truly intends to do about securing our border and illegal immigration.

…Kris Kobach, who was a counsel to the attorney general under John Ashcroft, told a House subcommittee last week that one of the most unusual aspects of the Senate bill is a provision — slipped into the more-than-800-page bill moments before the final vote — that would require the United States to consult with the Mexican government before constructing the fencing.

“I know of no other provision in U.S. law where the federal government requires state and local governments — every state and local government on the border — to consult with state and local governments of a foreign power before the federal government can act,” he said.

Yes, promise the American people whatever they want to hear but then hope we don’t notice that you have no intention of ever keeping those promises because you will neither fund them or you will be sure to include enough provisions in subsequent bills to assure your promises can never be fulfilled.

God bless Senator Jeff Sessions. He has been one of the few that has spoken for the American people and has repeatedly exposed the true agenda of our elected officials.

300 protest sheriff, county attorney over prosecution of illegal immigrants

14 07 2006

Cross posted from DeMediacratic Nation

As a follow up to Groups: Immigrants Without Borders AND Protect Our City, which was posted prior to its taking place.

Thomas and Arpaio said they will continue to uphold the law that aims to combat illegal immigration

As the title states, only 300 people showed up though it was hoped by organizers that 1,000 would attend. But in the spirit of speaking for everyone else, Luis Hernandez of Immigrants Without Borders, the Arizona Republic quoted him as saying:

“Those that aren’t here aren’t here because they had to work, not because they didn’t care. But we represent them and we want to remind everyone that this nation was built on the back of immigrants. Please stop persecuting them.”

So, there you have it. It no longer matters if anyone showed up, they wanted or meant to, but they didn’t. However, in the Liberal sense of truth and reality there was a million….

Additionally akin to (though obviously not as extreme), terrorists socializing their children in a cult of death:

some children sported faux black-and-white prison garb to illustrate their “criminal” status under the law.

In response to the protesters:

Arpaio met protesters outside of his office, where he defended the arrests, and seemed to take umbrage at some of the signs, which referred to him as “heartless.”

“Do you think I like arresting people? No. I have compassion for these people,” he told the crowd. “But they’re violating the law and it’s my job as the sheriff to uphold the law. Change the law and I promise you I’ll stop arresting them.”

Following the encirclement of the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office, the mob headed down to County Attorney Andrew Thomas’ office while taking a page from the civil rights movement of the 60’s:

they sang “We Shall Overcome” and peacefully picketed before returning to Patriots Square Park.

Whether or not the little ditty was sung in Spanish or English was not mentioned.
