July 25, 2006Forum on Immigrant Issues to Be Held in Helena
A one-day forum on issues faced by immigrants in Montana will be held Thursday, Aug. 3, at the Red Lion Colonial Hotel in Helena.
The purpose of the forum is to raise awareness and increase understanding of immigrant issues that exist in Montana. It also provides an opportunity for service providers, policymakers, advocates, and the immigrant community to have interactive discussions about the ability of immigrants to access governmental programs for which they are eligible and about the rights immigrants have under civil rights laws.
The forum is sponsored by federal, state, and local agencies, including the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services and Agriculture, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Montana Human Rights Network, the Montana Food Bank Network, and the state Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS). The cost to register is $25, which includes breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack.
The event will feature a presentation by Dinah Wiley, senior civil rights analyst with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights. Ms. Wiley will review key federal policies governing immigrant access to public benefit programs, with an emphasis on health and social services programs.
A lunchtime panel discussion will feature representatives from Montana immigrant advocacy groups, including the Montana Legal Services Association, Montana Food Bank Network, and Montana Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker Council.
Participants will talk about what their organizations do and how they work with and for immigrants. They also will discuss the presence of immigrants in Montana, the fact that immigrants have rights to receive certain services, and how their organizations have improved the quality of life of the immigrants with whom they work.
Breakout sessions will address:
• Medicaid
• Racial and ethnic health disparities
• Mexican Consulate
• Housing/energy assistance
• Limited English proficiency
• Food assistance
• Immigration
• Domestic violence
• Labor/employmentDuring the morning session, Salvador Jimenez, Consul of Mexico in Salt Lake City, and Anna Whiting-Sorrell, policy adviser to Gov. Brian Schweitzer, will provide opening remarks.

What they should be saying is illegal alien invaders, not immigrants. Notice the programs they will be discussing, those are programs the brain dead in this country say illegal aliens cannot access.
How can they even discuss labor/employment when that is AGAINST THE LAW! They are also not entitled to Medicaid, so what is there to discuss here? If you don’t think this is about illegal alien invaders from Mexico than ask yourself, why is the Mexican Consolate involved in this “forum”?
I have some more whys for our government:
Why are you allowing the Mexican Consolate to help illegal aliens open bank accounts and get home loans? You would think giving a home loan to someone who faces deportation would be a high risk loan. Do they have some kind of assurances from our government?
Why do they allow them to give out consular cards for id or help illegals civily sue USA citizens and steal their land?
Why are they allowing these “forums” around the country?

The majority of Americans are of a like mind regarding the invasion of illegal aliens and the reprehensible criminal negligence of our politicians.
We elected these sorry deceitful politicians to represent our interests and yet we are the ones they have the least regard for.
They cannot be bothered with even acknowledging our opposition to amnesty and appeasement much less answering our emails, phone calls and letters with an intelligent reply.
I have a stack of generic mass produced replies full of political rhetoric and outright gibberish that says nothing.
While the media downplays our outrage and gives us sob stories of the poor illegal invader like the one of the poor Mexican woman taking her daughters to the free clinic while millions of American citizens forgo medical treatment until they can afford it.
We can’t afford it because we have to pay their bills.
We also have to be more and more careful as we walk our own streets and sleep in our own beds.
They have given us new words such as M13 gangs, coyote, gringo as well as graffiti and unacceptable hand gestures.
This world of ours is full of untold millions of poor and deprived human beings but if they continue to flood into to this country unabated and uncontrolled there will soon be no America.
The “you have” and “I want it” attitude of these people who enter our country with their hands out and the middle finger extended screaming that this is their land and they are going to take it back is a slap in the face to all Americans.
The already developed and prosperous United States of America and it’s bounty is what the illegal Mexicans want. Not an undeveloped plot of ground that existed before that development and prosperity took place.
If the Mexican people are capable of building and sustaining a nation such as the United States of America then, why have they not done so in their own country? Surely you realize that there has been more than enough time and history for such an accomplishment to occur?
Our own countrymen who have been elected to protect and serve American interests have betrayed our trust and betrayed America while they sell and compromise vast chunks of this country to foreign interests.
I have defined illegal aliens and their advocates as parasitic and I do not apologize because they will always follow those who are more capable of building a decent secure life and the responsible development of resources.
Once that financially successful development is complete they will descend like locusts to feed upon the accomplishments of others. If our society were not flourishing they would want no part of it.
The Mexican people and the people of other Third World countries must spend the time, effort and exhibit the passion and determination necessary to evoke change in their own countries.
Change that would ensure them a better life and warrant their pride of country.
Such actions on their part would earn them the respect of the world.
Their demands, arrogance and behavior in a country not their own and that they have entered illegally earn them nothing but contempt and pity.
As individuals we acquire the reputation our actions earn us. It is the same with countries.
Individuals and countries may or may not like their reputations but they are the result of their own actions and behavior and cannot be blamed on others.
When we speak the truth in simple and straightforward language, we are called racists or xenophobes
I have repeatedly replied to that charge using the same simple and straightforward language.
It is not racism when Americans react to unacceptable behavior.
That illegal aliens or their advocates proclaim that reaction to be prejudice does not make it so.
It is racism when those behaving in an unacceptable manner use that as their excuse.
Events in our country over the last 4 or 5 years can certainly be described as bizarre.
I don’t want to believe that we now live in a country where the people are ignored, the media is manipulated.
A country where no one can criticize the government and that even in a public forum on AOL our posts are garbled or deleted.. I don’t want to believe that but I’m having a bit of trouble with it.
Am I angry? Do I feel passionately about this invasion and subsequent degradation of my country?
Yes I am angry. Of course I am passionate about fighting this intrusion.

I read the very articulate reply proceeding mine and don’t feel the need to add a thing, except “Oh Brother”, breathed with a very loud sigh….the state of Montana communique on the so called forum that was held in Aug. (it is now Oct. as I write this), was incredibley insane. All this effort to give away other people’s money to what are obviously illegal aliens. When did the sponser program for actual immigrants actually end? Or did it just fade away? This is Disgusting ! They should all be locked up for aiding and abetting criminals. It must be treated as a true invasion, not a mere annoyance, to those who live in the midst of the problem and not in the legislative ivory tower. I happen to be a victim, as my area has become Immigration Acres, and with it the blight and crowding, etc. The advocates for gifting of benefits to illegal aliens should be required to live within the very neighborhoods their objects of affection live. Also, NO AMNESTY, NOT NOW, NOT EVER !!!!!!!!!!
Very well stated! I live in Nothern Sonora (formerly Arizona) that has been requisitioned (reconquista) very quickly. This must stop! I’m afraid that it will eventually lead to serious civil unrest (guns and the like) before Washington gets it!! Bush has turned out to be the best President Mexico ever had. I guess he thinks the illegals will help him build the family’s dream of a ‘New World Order.’
