A Warning to Santa Clara County: Do Not Cut Services to Citizens In Order to Pamper Illegal Aliens!

Dear Editor:

In the Mercury News editorial of May 14, 2007 (Residents Must Heed Budget Call), residents are urged to attend board of supervisors meetings because “supervisors need every creative idea” in order to avoid $227 million in budget cuts.

Here’s an idea, not particularly creative, but well worth considering:

Do not provide services to illegal aliens. All such people are criminals who have no legal or moral basis for being here.

By refusing to coddle illegal aliens with public services, three important objectives will be realized:

1. Taxpayer dollars would no longer be squandered on those not entitled to services,

2. Without free handouts, Santa Clara County would lose its appeal and illegal aliens would start to self deport, and

3. Those in Mexico and elsewhere who are considering an invasion across our borders would receive a message loud and clear: Do not bother, freeloading is no longer viable.

Should Santa Clara County elect to cut services to citizens in order to accommodate illegal aliens, a legal battle of epic proportions will ensue.

Let county officials be forewarned: Citizens are fed up with taxpayer dollars being spent on illegal aliens at the expense of those who legitimately belong here.

Senate Amnesty Agreement Reached

Senator Ted Kennedy and Harry Reid along with Presidential hopeful John McCain are proudly touting an agreement reached to provide amnesty to the approximately 20 million illegal aliens residing in the U.S. If you haven’t contacted your Senators and Congressmen yet, now is the time to do so.

The plan includes the following provisions:

1. It provides amnesty for illegal aliens who came to this country prior to January 1, 2007 (How exactly you are to prove when an illegal came here is beyond me.), who have paid taxes, and do not have a criminal record.

2. It creates a new “Z” visa which will be issued to the previouosly mentioned group of illegal aliens that would allow them to stay and work in the U.S.

3. The head of the illegal alien household will be given 8 years to return to their country of origin and pay a fine of $5,000 to achieve U.S. citizenship.

4. Illegal aliens with “Z” visas not wanting citizenship will be able to renew their “Z” visa indifinetely allowing them to stay and work in the U.S.

5. A new guest worker visa will be created that allows a foreign worker to come to the U.S. and work for two years. It can then be renewed up to 3 times.

6. It decreases the length of the border fence called for in previously passed legislation from 750 miles to 370.

7. It calls for the hiring of 18,000 new border patrol agents (who we assume are being hired to replace the agents the federal government has been throwing in jail for protecting the U.S. from drug smugglers and other criminals).

Senator Kennedy stated the President has agreed to sign the bill. Thus, the only thing between amnesty for 20 million illegal aliens and law and order is the Democrat controlled House.

We can only hope the bi-annually elected House members will be more receptive to the will of the people and reject this disgraceful piece of legislation.

Giuliani and NAFTA, say it’s not so

More than one source is connecting Rudy Giuliani to the NAFTA superhighway and Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC) highway system. Is there really a connection or is this an effort to smear Giuliani?

Here’s the story:

The Giuliani connection to this controversial process is through Bracewell & Giuliani, a law firm he joined as senior partner in 2005. Bracewell has already come in for criticism because it represents Citgo, the oil company controlled by Venezuela’s anti-American and terrorist-supporting ruler Hugo Chavez.

Freelance columnist Dianne M. Grassi broke the story of Giuliani’s law firm acting as the exclusive legal counsel for Cintra, the Spanish firm that has been granted the right to operate a toll road in the Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC) project. Grassi comments, “Most interesting to the whole story is not only has Mr. Giuliani’s involvement in the NAFTA Superhighway not ever having been publicly addressed, but how a foreign company is awarded the building of a mass highway system, versus maintaining it, for the first time in U.S. history, and negotiated by the law firm of the top Republican candidate running for President of the United States. And truly disturbing is how such will not only have national and homeland security and sovereignty implications but how it is deliberately being kept away from the Halls of Congress.” (Canada Free Press)

The Washington Post article begins in December 2001, when Giuliani began his new firm. The article lists Giuliani’s partners, (some with questionable acts in their past), clients, (check it out), money, international connections, and more. Also the comments to the WaPo article a interesting.

The letter he dispatched to the city Conflicts of Interest Board that day asked permission to begin forming a consulting firm with three members of his outgoing administration. The company, Giuliani said, would provide “management consulting service to governments and business” and would seek out partners for a “wide-range of possible business, management and financial services” projects.

Over the next five years, Giuliani Partners earned more than $100 million, according to a knowledgeable source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the firm’s financial information is private. And that success helped transform the Republican considered the front-runner for his party’s 2008 presidential nomination from a moderately well-off public servant into a globe-trotting consultant whose net worth is estimated to be in the tens of millions of dollars. On NAFTA and TCC:

Evidence shows that NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement involving the U.S., Canada and Mexico, is being expanded without congressional approval or oversight as part of a plan to create an economic and political entity known as the North American Union (NAU). Federal documents uncovered by Judicial Watch quote participants in the scheme as saying that an “evolution by stealth” strategy is being used to put the pieces into place. Documents also speak of developing a common security perimeter and a common identification card for citizens of the three countries.

Resolutions against the NAU have been introduced in 14 state legislatures-and have passed in two-and thousands of people have turned out in Texas to protest a Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC) highway system, which will link the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Critics say the project is being funded by foreign interests, could run roughshod over private property rights, and could facilitate illegal activities, such as the trafficking of people and drugs, from Mexico. Mayor Lou Barletta Wins One – Twice!

Hazleton, Pennsylvania Mayor Lou Barletta won the Hazleton election on Tuesday.

TWICE!!!

And by a LANDSLIDE!

Barletta, known for taking care of his citizens at the risk of being labeled a racist, a xenophobe, and even after being sued for his stance against illegal aliens and the cost to his community, proved to Washington that doing the right thing for the American citizens has its rewards.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta, who gained national attention by targeting illegal immigrants living in his small northeastern Pennsylvania city, cruised to the Republican nomination for a third term on Tuesday — and unexpectedly won the Democratic nomination, too.

Barletta trounced GOP challenger Dee Deakos with nearly 94 percent of the vote. And he beat former Mayor Michael Marsicano for the Democratic nomination by staging a last-minute write-in campaign, all but guaranteeing himself another term, unofficial returns showed.

“I think the message is clear,” Barletta said. “The people of Hazleton want me to keep fighting for them.”

The Republican mayor said Democrats kept telling him they wished they could vote for him in the primary. So, about a week ago, he mailed instructions to Democratic voters on how to write in his name.

And what did those flyers say? The Standard Speaker, PA reported over the weekend:

Barletta’s campaign mailed out flyers Thursday asking Democrats to write him in.

“Go to the polls and write in Lou Barletta for mayor,” the flyer screams. “Democrats – it’s easy to write in Lou Barletta for mayor. Take this to the polls with you.”

The flyer also gives detail instructions on how to do it.

Our elected officials would do well to look up from their delusional amnesty legislation meetings long enough to notice that there is a star on our east coast. To be more accurate, there is a rising star in Hazleton who actually erased the aisle between his Republican and Democratic constituents. He didn’t do it with backdoor secret meetings. He didn’t do it by appeasing his lobbyists. He didn’t do it by cowering from his responsibilities or by running from his duty to protect his city.

No.

He chose a different path. He chose to do the right thing. And for that, he has overcome the bitter partisan politics in this nation and has united – and received the support of – his entire city.

Senate Majority Leader Reid (D-Nev.) had insisted that he would force an amnesty vote Wednesday morning in an attempt to push everybody to come to an agreement. But the negotiations broke down again tonight and it was clear that the amnesty vote would have lost tomorrow.

Reid says there is a lot of progress and he hopes the White House, Sen. Kennedy (D-Mass.) and Sen. Kyl (R-AZ) will agree to the details of the amnesty by next Monday night.

And Senate Minority Leader McConnell (R-KY) is saying tonight that negotiations continue tomorrow and that he is very hopeful the amnesty will come together by Monday.

So, we have our work cut out for us.

The bill coming out of the Senate is nothing less than a total Amnesty package Negotiated in committee and introduced without debate to the floor of the Senate. Conservative Senators were not even given the opportunity to read the bill …..
Immigration Deal Will Grant Amnesty to Parents, Spouses and Children
Senate Democrats and Republicans are working feverishly with the White House to put the finishing touches on an immigration proposal that could be announced later today or tomorrow. The deal would give illegal aliens living in the United States amnesty, according to confidential sources. It would also allow illegal aliens to bring their parents, spouses and children into the United States.Multiple sources on Capitol Hill with knowledge of the proposal said Sen. Teddy Kennedy (D.-Mass.) has been able to extract significant concessions from Republicans. The critical part of the deal is a lengthy section that spells out the provisions related to “Z” visas — or what my sources described as the “Amnesty Title” of the bill. The “Z” visas would be broken down into three categories as follows:

Z-1 — Illegal alien present and working in the United States up to January 1, 2007
Z-2 — Parents and spouses of illegal aliens qualifying under the Z-1 category
Z-3 — Children of illegal aliens qualifying under the Z-1 category

This provision in the Kennedy deal, approved by some Republicans, is clearly amnesty under any definition, according to immigration experts whom we consulted.

The proposal would require illegal immigrants to pay a fine to apply for the “Z” visa, but despite that penalty, this deal as a major sell out to Kennedy and his pro-amnesty allies.

HERE’S SOME MATH:

1 Illegal Alien + 1 father + 1 mother + one wife + 2 kid + 1 wife’s father + 1 wife’s mother. Then when mother/father + in-laws are naturalized, 2 kids of each.

Total: 1 illegal alien. 11 extended family. Assuming only two kids per family in the good Catholic country of Mexico.

Grand total: currently 12 million illegal aliens. Potential new Americans, 12 million illegals, 132 million family. Give or take a few.

ALL ELIGIBLE FOR RETROACTIVE SOCIAL SECURITY

ALL ELIGIBLE FOR FREE EDUCATION AND MEDICAL CARE

YOU WILL BE PAYING FOR ALL OF THIS!

We need 41 votes in the Senate to kill this bill……….

The best chance we have to stop Reid, Kennedy, McCain, and the rest of the gutless conservatives for this disastrous amnesty vote is to call your Senators and demand “No Amnesty for Illegals!”

There have been seven illegal alien amnesties passed into law since 1986:

·The 1986 Immigration and Reform Control Act blanket amnesty for an estimated 2.7 million illegal aliens

·1994: The “Section 245(i)” temporary rolling amnesty for 578,000 illegal aliens

·1997: Extension of the Section 245(i) amnesty

·1997: The Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act for nearly one million illegal aliens from Central America

·1998: The Haitian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act amnesty for 125,000 illegal aliens from Haiti

·2000: Extension of amnesty for some 400,000 illegal aliens who claimed eligibility under the 1986 act

·2000: The Legal Immigration Family Equity Act, which included a restoration of the rolling Section 245(i) amnesty for 900,000 illegal aliens]

Guess what? None –not one—of those amnesties was associated with a decline in illegal immigration. On the contrary, the number of illegal aliens in the U.S. has tripled since President Reagan signed the first amnesty in 1986. The total effect of the amnesties was even larger because relatives later joined amnesty recipients, and this number was multiplied by an unknown number of children born to amnesty recipients who then acquired automatic US citizenship.

And as I’ve noted before, there is no such thing as a “temporary” amnesty.

A Severed Head? Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) on Immigration Reform

VERACRUZ, Mexico – A severed head accompanied by a note of defiance from crime gangs was found outside a military barracks in Veracruz yesterday hours after the government sent in extra troops. On Friday, assailants killed four bodyguards assigned to protect the children of a state governor vacationing in Veracruz. The note warned that gangs would continue operating despite the presence of troops.

CHAMBLISS IMMIGRATION UPDATE

I know that Georgians are anxious for an update regarding action on immigration reform. Folks have contacted my office over the course of many, many months expressing frustration with the immigration situation facing our nation and rightfully so.

Over the past few months, I have been part of a group of senators who have met regularly to negotiate this issue. My top priority in this debate is border security, because if we do not secure the border then we will fail to address a serious national security issue and we will fail to prevent future illegal immigration.

Second, I will not support amnesty. I opposed the bill approved by the Senate last year because it put a greater emphasis on providing a pathway to citizenship for people who are here illegally than it did on border security, and that is the wrong approach.

Third, if the U.S. economy is to continue to grow, we must create temporary worker programs that enable employers to fill jobs that no American citizen will take. Further, we must ensure that American workers and American wages are not harmed by a temporary worker program. Employers must be provided with a fool-proof verification system to ensure that prospective employees are legal, and once this system is created, employers who refuse to verify the status of their employees or who knowingly hire illegal workers should be severely punished.

Immigration is a federal issue, and that is why Congress needs to act now to implement comprehensive immigration reform that is responsible, reasonable, and respects the rule of law.

Essential American Truths Hispanics Must Accept

After watching millions of illegal aliens and advocates protest in the streets of America last April and May and in smaller numbers again this May, it is clear that many Hispanics, including those here legally, need to understand the following essential truths about America:

*In 1848, The Treaty of Guadeloupe Hidalgo was ratified by both the U.S. and Mexican Congresses. That Treaty ended any and all claims Mexico had to land now a part of the United States.

* Native American Indians were the original owners of the American southwest. Were there were any valid property rights claims concerning that land, such rights would belong to Native American Indians, not Mexicans.

*America is a sovereign nation, totally independent of Mexico. It has been that way for over 200 years. We intend to keep it that way.

*Brown may be beautiful in Mexico. But in America, we are partial to colors that symbolize freedom under the rule of law. That would be Red, White and Blue.

*In America, Mexico is considered a FOREIGN nation and Spanish is a FOREIGN language.

*America operates according to the rule of law which applies to everyone. This is true whether one is brown, black, yellow, lily-white, red, or an exotic hybrid of lavender and green.

*Being hard-working and good hearted is commendable. But those qualities do NOT entitle anyone to enter America illegally.

*Bilingualism is cool—provided one of the languages is English. Literacy in only Mexican and Spanish is not cool in America.

*Celebrating ones cultural heritage is perfectly fine–as long as it does not interfere with complete and prompt assimilation into American culture.

* Driving while loaded or drunk may be “macho” in Mexico. But in America, driving under the influence is considered stupid and criminal and is not tolerated, regardless of one’s country of origin or cultural heritage.

* People here illegally are common criminals, and as such, are most unwelcome. American citizens will fight to have such miscreants deported, regardless of whether or not families are involved. Illegal is illegal, Family or not.

* Demanding that our borders be secured and that the law be enforced is the right of all American citizens; doing so does not make any one a racist or bigot.

*U.S. immigration laws exist to protect American citizens & others here legally, not to facilitate a foreigner’s pursuit of a better life, and

*Those who come to America must adjust to our culture and traditions. We have no obligation or desire to change in deference to foreign newcomers.

Illegal aliens: Take this list with you when you are deported back to Mexico, and share it with other Mexicans considering invading.

Your experience may cause them to reconsider, and that would be a good thing!

Senators Sellout Americans!

The American people have been sold out by one of the last hopes we had for fighting illegal immigration. The Senate Republicans are said to have secretly signed off on amnesty legislation. This despite the Republican thrashing in the last election due to dissatisfaction with their handling of the illegal immigration issue.

Supporting this amnesty legislation is completely contrary to the views and desires of their voter base and Americans in general. Polling data generally illustrates, by a two thirds margin, that Americans are opposed to amnesty in anyway shape or form. None of this matters to the power and money hungry traitors in Washington. Bohica citizens only this time its worse for a lot of reasons.

White flag time on the border, and a national security and thus a political disaster.

The GOP are sending around talking points attempting to make this “compromise” defensible, but it won’t and shouldn’t fly. Agreeing to it takes the party down the tubes on the issue of border security –because it doesn’t provide what the public understands to be border security, a very long, very high fence with a very wide gate.

This is McCain’s continuing gift to the GOP, and the immigration absolutists’ legacy: Lots and lots of promises and no fence worth calling a fence.

Aren’t there 41 GOP senators willing to fight for border security? Apparently not. And they will see the result in their depleted coffers and diminished numbers come November ‘08. All they have to do is fight for border security, but they won’t even do that.

There hasn’t been much talk on the legislation’s chances in the house because Republicans were expected to block the legislation. I will be looking into that over the next day or so. If it gets by the house, El Arbolito is sure to sign it. The sellout will be complete. The disaster put in motion.

Hence, the illegal immigrant amnesty bill and what seems like an abrupt about face by many of the politicians involved. Long time Hill watchers took a look at that immigration bill when it first saw the light of day and could smell the amnesty provisions in it a mile away. Despite the denials that this simply wasn’t so. Despite the name calling by proponents, tarring the opposition with horribly hurtful epithets questioning their fairness and empathy. Despite all of it, the opponents of the bill turn out to be right and the advocates are revealed as liars.

The Republican party must be made to pay for this indiscretion. Any Republican Senator that signs this legislation must be put out of office. As for the Democrats, they haven’t represented American middle class interests for years. There was no hope for any of the Democrats to buck the lock step trend. They too should be made to pay.

However, being a former lifelong Republican, I hold these sellout Senators more responsible. They used to be the party of small government and the rule of law. Now this nation has no such party. Soon we will no longer be a nation built upon the rule of law. Anarchy is sure to follow and this nation may cease to be a nation. This is a huge disaster and we all must continue to fight it with every ounce of resolve we possess.

It’s time for each and every concerned citizen to call their Senators and demand that they vote against this amnesty legislation.
