Amnesty AND the North American Union – A TWO FOR ONE BARGAIN FOR AMERICANS

Here is a little gem in the new ‘grand bargain’ (AKA S.1348) being proposed by our Congress:

SEC. 113. REPORTS ON IMPROVING THE EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION ON NORTH AMERICAN SECURITY.

North American Security? I thought this bill was a “comprehensive immigration bill” for the United States, written by the U.S. Congress. There is more to it than we know.

Can you say North American Union?

Tucked away on Page 28 under the above heading in Sec. 113 is this:

(3) VISA POLICY COORDINATION AND IMMIGRATION SECURITY. — The progress made by Canada, Mexico, and the United States to enhance the security of North America by cooperating on visa policy and identifying best practices regarding immigration security, including the progress made –

(C) in exploring methods for Canada, Mexico, and the United States to waive visa requirements for nationals and citizens of the same foreign countries;

The North American Union is closer than we think with some Republicans now saying they are signing on to this insanity.

Goodbye borders! It was nice to know ya!

And under the same heading:

(E) in developing and implementing an immigration security strategy for North America that works toward the development of a common security perimeter by enhancing technical assistance for programs and systems to support advance automated reporting and risk targeting of international passengers;

A “common security perimeter” for North America? How nice. I guess since Congress can’t seem to secure our border, they have decided to just give in and tackle the entire perimeter of North America.

But wait, it gets better:

(7) LAW ENFORCEMENT COOPERATION. — The progress made in enhancing law enforcement cooperation among Canada, Mexico, and the United States through enhanced technical assistance for the development and maintenance of a national database built upon identified best practices for biometrics associated with known and suspected criminals or terrorists, including exploring the formation of law enforcement teams that include personnel from the United States and Mexico, and appropriate procedures for such teams.

Merging law enforcement. Merging borders. Merging nations. This is the REAL betrayal of our Congress.

Arlen Specter has always been an enigma to conservative Republicans. His views are nearly as liberal as those held by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and the senator from Pennsylvania is famous for leading the charge against programs favored by President Bush and conservatives.

Why is this man a Republican at all?

No one is certain, although it appears that Specter was under the clumsy assumption that D stood for despicable, which it does, and he chose to be repugnant, with an R.

Make that a capital R, which the contentious senator most certainly is.

When it comes to illegal immigration, Specter has always been more concerned with illegal aliens than he is about American sovereignty, rule of law, or homeland security.

For instance, Specter made the following comment about the latest immigration reform proposal that reportedly has been agreed to by the White House and key members of the U.S. Senate:

“It is not amnesty. This will restore the rule of law.”

That from the mouth of the man who has served on the Senate Judiciary Committee for years, who has been a powerful figure in determining the composition of the U.S. Supreme Court, and who should know better!

How in Hades does one “restore rule of law,” by legalizing millions of people who are guilty of breaking and entering into America?

Does that not simply reward illegal behavior and encourage additional millions to cross our borders illegally, Senator Specter?

With that sort of convoluted illogic, one would expect the Arlene Specter Arlen Specter School of Problem Solving, Jurisprudence, and Ouija Boards to instruct students with examples such as these:

Problem:
Drivers are speeding through school zones, residential neighborhoods, and busy intersections.

Arlen Specter Solution:
Discontinue all speed limits.
Problem:
IRS auditors are uncovering massive levels of cheating and fraud on income tax returns.

Arlen Specter Solution:
Eliminate IRS audits.
Problem:
AIDS epidemic is spreading like wild fire in San Francisco, New York City, and Los Angeles.

Arlen Specter Solution:
Stop HIV testing in the afflicted cities.
Problem:
Armed bank robberies in broad daylight are soaring.

Arlen Specter Solution:
Leave banks and vaults unlocked and unguarded at night.

Problem:
Too many students unable to pass final exams required to graduate.

Arlen Specter Solution:
Educators have two options: Either revise downward the standards for passing, or eliminate final exams altogether.

Senator Specter’s thoughts are not completely dissimilar to those delivered by President Bush in his last State of the Union speech when Dubya stated that “too much pressure at our borders” was causing the tsunami of illegal aliens into America.

12-30 million illegal aliens are here and there is too much pressure at the border?

Bush, Democrats, and RINOs, including Arlen Specter, think that we can stop illegal aliens from crossing our borders in one of two ways:

Make illegal aliens legal. Or, eliminate the borders.

Either way, the problem is no more.

And, unfortunately, neither is America!

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:

Patriotic Americans all across our great land are flying the American flag upside down this morning, at least metaphorically, to signify that our once great nation is under attack and in severe distress.

At issue is nothing less vital than homeland security, rule of law, American sovereignty, and preservation of American language and culture, all of which are threatened by the latest amnesty legislation that appears to be gaining some acceptance in Washington, D.C.

Although the term amnesty has been carefully avoided, the fact is that the proposed legislation would legalize millions of illegal aliens who have thumbed their noses at U.S. borders and immigration laws for their own selfish purposes.

The proposed amnesty would reward these criminals, while millions of others across the globe are penalized for obeying the law.

President Bush and prominent members of the U.S. Congress are promising that the new legislation will improve border security and reduce illegal immigration. One senator from Pennsylvania even went so far as to suggest that the bill would restore “rule of law” to immigration.

With all due respect to the gentleman, simply legalizing illegal behavior hardly qualifies as a credible way to restore rule of law.

Ladies and gentlemen, the latest proposal indicates that either you are not listening or we are not shouting loud enough.

Just to make sure that our views are clearly understood, please be advised that we the people are FED UP with the attempt to undermine American sovereignty, homeland security, and culture.

In short, we the people are:

FED UP with the refusal of the federal government to secure our borders at time of war.

FED UP when armed Mexicans illegally cross our borders and assault Americans, yet our government takes no action, and refuses to even protest.

FED UP when Americans defending the U.S. from drug smuggling illegal aliens are sent to federal prison, while invading criminals are to be forgiven via amnesty for violating our borders and laws.

FED UP with the fact that upwards of 30 million illegal aliens are currently in America, costing taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars every year.

FED UP with a president who orders thousands of young Americans into harm’s way thousands of miles from home, but who refuses to secure America.

FED UP with politicians who refuse to enforce immigration laws and who claim it is “impossible” to deport criminals here illegally.

FED UP with illegal aliens who can not and/or will not speak English.

FED UP with taxpayer dollars being wasted to print documents in foreign languages.

FED UP with illegal aliens who dump their medical bills on the backs of U.S. taxpayers, but who send $30-40 billion a year back to Mexico each year.

FED UP with the fact that providing free medical services to illegal aliens drives hospitals out of business, making those facilities unavailable to American citizens for whom the medical centers were intended.

FED UP with our schools being invaded by non-English speaking children who impede the learning process of students who genuinely belong here.

FED UP with the fact that federal, state, and local penal systems are overrun by illegal aliens, again costing taxpayers billions each year.

FED UP with the fact that, on average, illegal aliens kill 12 Americans every day.

FED UP with the fact that the overwhelming majority of felony crimes being investigated in Los Angeles have been committed by illegals from Mexico.

FED UP with politicians who refuse to round up and deport millions of illegal aliens who are destroying American culture and language.

FED UP with politicians who pamper illegal aliens with driver’s licenses and free public services, which encourage even more invaders to come to America.

FED UP with the attempted Mexicanization of America. Mexico is a third- world slum, and we are FED UP with those who want America to be like Mexico!

Finally, Mr. President and members of the U.S. Congress, we the people are FED UP with those who consistently work on behalf of illegal aliens and the state of Mexico, and against the interests of the American people!

Please do not underestimate the dissatisfaction and rage swelling in the hearts of patriotic Americans on this vital issue.

We the people DEMAND our great country back!

Just say no to amnesty!

Ted Kennedy Wrong About Immigration for 42 Years and Counting

The genesis of today’s 30 million illegal alien problem can be traced right through 350 pounds of inebriated Ted Kennedy:

1965: “The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs.”

1986: “This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1 to 1.3 million illegal aliens. We will secure the borders henceforth. We will never again bring forward another amnesty bill like this.”

2007: “Now it is time for action. 2007 is the year we must fix our broken system.”

Runaway Congress – Help Stop Amnesty Now!

If you have never picked up your phone to call or fax Congress, do it now! Our elected officials are trying to cram amnesty down our throats with a bill that was announced yesterday with no debate and no possibility for Americans to object.

We are witnessing a ‘Runaway Congress’. If you have seen the movie Runaway Jury, you know what I’m talking about. Our Congress has been stolen by foreign lobbyists and greedy corporations – lobbyists who, by the way, say that they are happy with the ‘amnesty‘ portion of the bill but will work to ‘improve it’ to add even more perks for illegal aliens.

From Grassfire:

Ted Kennedy just announced that the a deal has been struck between The White House, Democrats and Republicans on an amnesty bill.

This behind-closed-doors bill clearly is an amnesty bill. 12 million illegals will gain immediate legal status, rights and benefits — and a path to citizenship.

Even worse — this back-room deal means no public debate. The Senate will vote on amnesty by next Friday!

Let’s be clear — they are rushing this through — without committee deliberations or the normal two to three week time for debate — in an attempt to avoid public discussion and grassroots pressure.

This is outrageous!

Mexicans Fear U.S. Immigration Plan

At the U.S. Consulate in Monterrey, which hands out more temporary work visas than anywhere else in the world, Edmundo Bermudez, a 36-year-old from the northern city of Durango, was especially offended by reports that preference would be given to migrants with degrees and specialized skills.”The United States already has enough people with college degrees. Who is going to cut their tobacco?” asked Bermudez, who has been working intermittently in the U.S. for the past eight years. In Mexico, he makes about $10 a day, while in the U.S. he earns $8 an hour.[snip]

Mexican newspaper and television news broadcasts led with news of the proposal Friday, with El Universal newspaper headlines reading: “Immigration reform divides the United States” and “Latinos: It isn’t what we hoped for.”

Gilberto Escalante, a 41-year-old fisherman from Topolobampo in Sinaloa state, said the current guest worker program is better than the congressional plan because it gives Mexicans the option to freely enter and leave the U.S. while maintaining their lives in Mexico – instead of forcing them to choose between the two countries.

“We don’t want the house or the latest car in the U.S. We want to go and work so that our families can have a good life in Mexico,” said Escalante, who came to the industrial hub of Monterrey to apply for a visa to work on fish and shrimp boats off the coast of Mississippi.

Yet the congressional plan came as welcome news to the millions of Mexicans who depend on the $23 billion sent home each year by Mexicans living in the U.S., many illegally.

Yeah, it is great for Mexico and a disaster for the U.S. This Bill allows all of the illegal aliens to remain in this country indefinitely. Mostly poor, hispanic socialists who would almost exclusively vote democrat and for social programs.

Did I mention it actually decreases the size of the fence? Yup, from over 700 miles to just over 300 miles. You remember the fence Bill was signed into law last year and no construction was ever started.

The proposal would allow illegal immigrants to obtain a “Z visa” and ultimately get on track for permanent residency, which could take between eight and 13 years. Heads of households would have to return to their home countries first.

It is also good news for the Mexican government, which has spent years lobbying the U.S. for a comprehensive immigration reform that allows more people to work legally in the U.S. Many had feared the U.S. would only approve more border security measures, such as adding to National Guard troops at the border and other high-tech security measures.

Gee, How do the illegal aliens feel about this bill…

From the International Herald Tribune:

They said key components of the proposed deal regarding illegal immigrants, such as having to return to their home countries to apply for legal residency and pay a $5,000 (€3,700) fine, would be financially impossible for low-wage earners.Many also said stepped up raids over the past year made them distrustful that U.S. immigration authorities would let them return to America.

“If I go home, who is going to guarantee that I’ll be let back in?” said David Guerra, 44, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador.

Guerra, who works as a day laborer in Los Angeles, said his wife and four children survive off the $300 (€222) he sends home each month.

Missing several weeks of work to return home, plus paying the fine and thousands of dollars in application fees, would be disastrous for his family, Guerra said.

Amy Ndour, a 23-year-old illegal immigrant from Senegal who lives in New York, said she would be willing to pay the $5,000 fine, but not to return home because her family there depends on what she earns as a hair braider.

“I’m helping myself” here, she said. “I’m helping people there too.”[snip]

Some illegal immigrants said returning home presented another major hurdle: having to apply for residency at U.S. embassies in their home countries.

Carlos Velazquez, a 40-year-old illegal immigrant in Los Angeles, said the lines at embassies in his native Honduras are so long that people often have to pay bribes just to get in the door. Velazquez said he applied twice for visas in Honduras, and both times had to pay several bribes to local embassy staff.[snip]

Family connections alone would no longer be enough to qualify for a green card — except for spouses and minor children of U.S. citizens — and new limits would apply to U.S. citizens seeking to bring foreign-born parents into the country.

Many illegal immigrants said they had little incentive to apply for residency because the process was long and did not give them much hope of bringing their families.

“If I’ll never be able to bring my family, why should I apply?” said Jose Monson, a 33-year-old illegal immigrant from Guatemala who has lived in Los Angeles four years. “I prefer to just stay here illegally.”

“If I get deported and need to cross the border again, that’s not a problem,” he said.

Awe, aren’t they sweet people? The nerve of our government not to give them blanket amnesty for free and allow as many Mexicans to come here that want to come here.

SB 1348 will destroy our country. It will be the first step towards communism/socialism in this country. We need to call the Senate and tell our elected cockroaches that this is NOT their last best chance to deal with this issue. Tell them to secure the border and enforce the laws on the books. If we increase deportations by just 20% we can deport all the illegal aliens by 2015 while preserving the rule of law. We cannot legalize poor socialists that have no respect for the rule of law or private property rights.

Contact your elected cockroaches immediately!

Amnesty Fall Out: Who’s Going to Cut Our Tobacco?

Apparently, not all illegal aliens and aspiring illegals are thrilled at the Duyba-Kennedy sellout of America.

In the story linked below, Mexican intellectual Edmundo Bermudez objects to provisions that would give preference to migrant hopefuls with college degrees.

Bermudez, obviously not an illegal who would demand in-state tuition perks,had this to say:

“The United States already has enough people with college degrees. Who is going to cut their tobacco?” asked Bermudez, who has been working intermittently in the U.S. for the past eight years. In Mexico, he makes about $10 a day, while in the U.S. he earns almost that — $8 — in an hour.

Yet another example of how dangerous tobacco is—besides lung cancer, heart disease, and emphysema, unfiltered Pall Malls cause terminal stupidity in Latino cutters!

With that sort of logic and reasoning ability, one wonders why Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats have not made this fellow chairman of their “get out the vote!” campaign for 2008—in Mexico!

Where Will the Next 20 Million Illegal Aliens Come From? Will They Be Welcome?

Democrats, RINOs, and our liberal president may be in a giddy mood if, as is being reported, a deal has been struck on amnesty for 12-20 million illegal aliens, thereby effectively ending rule of law as a basic governing precept in America.

No doubt many Hispanics are thrilled as well, with visions of remaking America into a Mexico-north cutting off the flow of blood to their craniums, thereby causing foggy thinking, or worse.

Objective historians will no doubt record the Dubya-Kennedy tag team as the one that gave America “No Child Left Behind,” followed by the equally noxious “No Mexican Illegal Alien Denied” amnesty of 2007.

One can only hope that future scholars choose to document the fact that both pieces of legislation were crafted by a liberal very much in his cups, and approved by a dyslexic cowboy and former imbiber supposedly in recovery.

Score two for alcohol, and zero for America!

But what happens if the next 12-20 million illegal aliens are not illiterate Latino peasants willing to work for next to nothing and without benefits?

What if educated professionals from around the globe suddenly decide to invade America in pursuit of the American Dream?

For instance, there must be 100 million disaffected Chinese citizens who would love to move to the United States. If only those pesky immigration rules were not in the way!

With the precedent that may be established by the Dubya-Kennedy amnesty scandal, who can argue, with any moral or logical conviction, that scores of millions of Chinese, Haitians, or Iraqis, or any combination thereof, should not be welcomed into America with open arms and wallets, even if they do come illegally?

And what of the millions of people from Russia and other nations in the former Soviet Union who continue to suffer in poverty and disadvantage?

Now that America has abandoned all that nonsense about rule of law, borders, and ! legal im migration, what is stopping 30 or 40 million Ruskies from moving to California, Arizona, and Texas?

Of course, RINOs and big corporate moguls might not be so immigrant-friendly if the illegal aliens insisted on $30/hour rather the meager pittances commanded by janitors, gardeners, and fast-food slaves from Mexico and points south.

Democrats might find open borders, amnesty, and abandonment of rule of law to be a real stinker if the invaders were educated and less vulnerable to liberal propaganda.

For instance, would Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid be so impassioned about a “path to citizenship” if the invaders were overwhelmingly conservative, and likely to swell the ranks of the Republican Party? Me thinks not.

How would Hispanics respond if a border town in Texas became inundated with illegal aliens from Russia who demanded that their children be taught in their native tongue, and that ballots be printed in Russian?

Would the first Russian mayor be celebrated by Hispanics as a shining example of American diversity?

Would Hispanics who became citizens by virtue of the 2007 amnesty be open to the same treatment for those who speak perfect Russian or Chinese, but not a word of Spanish?

Barbara Simpson, a popular conservative radio talk show host in San Francisco, has a saying that sums it up very well:

Immigration bill doesn’t have the votes

Political Bulletin has the best comprehensive coverage of the latest immigration bill in congress. Looking at all the major coverage, it seems the big worry is the bill won’t pass the House. Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she won’t bring it up unless President Bush can guarantee he will produce 70 Republican backers.

Some illegals are saying that paying $5,000, waiting between eight and 13 years, and having to return home is too much … they will instead continue to remain here illegally. They would get the “Z-visa” only when the border security requirements are completed.

As George Stephanopoulos said on ABC World News, “Both Republicans and Democrats in the Senate say they think it can get through the Senate with more than 60 votes next week. But after that, it has to go to the House. That’s where the political terrain gets very tough. … There are political and substantive reasons. You have Democrats, including the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, who says the Senate bill has to be improved on the issues of family and guest workers. You have a lot of Republicans who don’t like the legalization provisions at all. They call it amnesty. And finally, politically, you have a lot of vulnerable Democrats who say they will not go along with this bill.” (more)

Fred Thompson on the new immigration bill:

“With this bill, the American people are going to think they are being sold the same bill of goods as before on border security. Geraldo Rivera, on Fox and Friends this morning, blamed the large number of illegal aliens in the United States on September 11, 2001. He said before September 11 illegals could flow back and forth across the border, visiting family and friends in Mexico at will. But after September 11, the borders were secure and the illegals were terrorized at the border and could not return home, thus being forced to stay here. Oh. My. Goodness. What a retarded, ignorant, bloviating, bag of gas Geraldo is. He never ceases to make me gag.

Here is what conservatives need to do: Get it going fast and DEMAND it be funded and enforced. Tell congress to shit or get off the pot. Make it do something useful. And then if it fails, congress takes the blame for passing bad laws.What conservatives cannot do is fracture their party over this bill and this one issue.

That would play straight into the democrat’s hands.
