Mexico’s consul from Ark. office speaks in Memphis

30 07 2007

Cross posted from   Bear Creek Ledger

It isn’t so much what this Mexican official is advocating to a group in Memphis, it’s the information on how the Little Rock Mexican consul office came to be:

Mexican consul from Little Rock encourages advocacy for illegal immigration

Recall that in 2003, Arkansas governor Mick Huckabee asked Vicente Fox to build their new consulate in Little Rock. He even temporarily housed them in a state agency office at a rental rate of $1 per year.

Former Governor Huckabee is running for President and has been touting himself as the “conservative” candidate.  Looks to me like he follows the McCain brand of conservative.  To actively recruit and advocate breaking the law with illegal aliens is far from conservative in my book.

New Americans welcomed to Iowa, Arkansas

As for Arkansas’ Huckabee, let’s hear what a Mexican consul had to say:

“[I came to Arkansas to] continue the negotiations with the state and city authorities for making sure that we are going to inaugurate a Mexican consulate in the coming year in Little Rock… Governor Huckabee was a large part of this… He went to Mexico City and met with President Fox and proposed this… [when you get your MC we] don’t care if you are documented or undocumented… I like Arkansas… It is so green. It’s so clean, nice, with very warm, open people, and many friends of Mexico.”

You can read about “Huck’s” deal with the Mexicans:

Last year, Huckabee struck a deal with Mexican officials to house the consular office in a state agency office for $1 a year while the consulate facilities were being refurbished. At the time, some lawmakers complained the governor made the deal without notifying the Legislature.

Lonewacko has more links relating to Huckabee’s support with illegal aliens.

Costa Mesa, California has been checking the citizenship of arrestees for the last seven months. And guess what they found?

It’s been seven months since Costa Mesa began checking the citizenship status of suspects arrested, and the numbers are telling: More than 300 have been detained for possibly committing crimes after crossing into the country illegally.

“We feel that the removal of hundreds of criminals from our society is a positive step forward, not something defend from a handful of vocal dissenters,” said council members Allan Mansoor, Eric Bever and Wendy Leece, in a written statement. “The deportation of individuals who have committed crimes clearly demonstrates we are being accountable to our community by upholding the law, and that the existing law is not broken but simply needs to be upheld at all levels of government.”

The article doesn’t say how many of those found to be illegal are eventually deported, but at least one area of the country is taking the first small step in dealing with illegal immigration.

Spencer Abraham, no way in Hell, Fred Thompson.

27 07 2007

Cross posted from Right Truth:

Fred Thompson has been my favorite for President in the 2008 election, until now. If what I’m hearing about Spencer Abraham, Thompson’s new campaign manager, then Fred’s campaign is dead in the water. Spencer Abraham, according to reports, is a supporter of open borders. That by itself is enough to turn most conservative voters off. On top of the border security question, I’m hearing that Spencer Abraham is an apologist for the Islamists. No way Fred can get elected if this is true. No way in hell.

Are you not aware that immigration restrictionists loathe Abraham as an open-borders true-believer, and that your appointment of him as your most important staff person throws into doubt your main selling point as a candidate? Did you have a reason for doing this, or are you just thick? (LibertyPost.com)

Michelle Malkin mentioned Spencer Abraham in her book “Invasion”:

In my 2002 book Invasion (p. 71, 76), I noted the open-borders obstructionism of former Sen. Spencer Abraham (R-Michigan), who fought to block the implementation of two different tracking databases–one for foreign student visa holders and the other for all temporary visitors (which was mandated by Section 110 of the 1996 Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act). Abraham led efforts to starve the first database of funding and crusaded several times to kill Section 110 altogether. On September 11, 2001, neither of those databases was in place. To this day, they remain incomplete.

Texas Fred asks, “Reason for Concern?? Speak your mind and let us know”. Indeed, let Texas Fred know what you think, but more important … let Fred Thompson know what you think. I have already sent letters to the campaign telling them Spencer Abraham must go, or Fred Thompson had NO chance of winning the election.

The American Muslim Alliance praises Spencer Abraham via Babbazee at The Outraged Spleen of Zion in a comment at Texas Fred’s. And from the Islamic Free Market:

“The future of the Islamic Free Market Institute will no doubt reach new heights under Saffuri’s strong leadership. ” Sen. Spencer Abraham, Michigan

I’m keeping an open mind. Some readers at Texas Fred’s think this is a strategic move by Fred to win votes, others think it is a fatal mistake, while others don’t see any problem with Abraham. Time will tell as more information comes out.

The Senate Passes $3 Billion in Emergency Funds for Border Security

27 07 2007

Of course, keep in mind, that HR 2638 will still need to be agreed to by the House and signed by President, but the extra $3 billion for border security is a step in the right direction.  Securing the border is the first step that our leaders must take to show the nation that they are serious in their efforts to choke off illegal immigration.

Whether this is just more smoke and mirrors or the realization in Washington that the dreams of amnesty are dead will only only be determined by a substantial decrease in illegal immigration.  CQ has the story:

After a flurry of negotiations, the Senate on Thursday agreed to add $3 billion in emergency border security funding to the fiscal 2008 homeland security spending bill, drawing Congress closer to a confrontation with the president over the level of funding in the bill.

The amendment, offered by Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., was adopted by 89-1.

The Senate was moving toward passage by late Thursday or Friday a $37.6 billion spending bill (HR 2638) that exceeds President Bush’s request by $2.3 billion and would provide $177 million more than the House-passed version. The White House on Wednesday threatened to veto the bill in its current form because of what it characterized as excessive spending.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, worked out an agreement that led to adoption of the Graham amendment.

Graham said the $3 billion in emergency spending would fund an additional 23,000 Border Patrol agents, 300 miles of vehicle barriers, 105 ground-based radar cameras in the desert and completion of the 700 miles of physical border fencing authorized by Congress last year .

Judge supports hiring and renting to illegals!

27 07 2007

The citizens of Hazleton, PA were dealt a blow by one of the greatest allies a criminal can have, a judge. I was disappointed, but not shocked, to read an article from Reuters via Drudge.

Court throw’s out city’s illegal immigration law

U.S. District Judge James Munley said the city of Hazleton, 100 miles north of Philadelphia, was not allowed to implement a law that would fine businesses that hire illegal immigrants and penalize landlords who rent rooms to them.

“Federal law prohibits Hazleton from enforcing any of the provisions of its ordinances,” Munley wrote in a 206-page opinion following a federal trial in which Hazleton’s law was challenged by civil rights groups.

It is difficult to imagine how some judges sleep at night. This judge’s action against righteousness isn’t as grotesque as the disgusting act of Judge Katherine Savage, who dismissed the case of child rape against Liberian native Mahamu Kanneh because n interpreter who spoke his West African dialect could not be located, however this ruling may have a nationwide effect. This precedent could be used to prevent other local governments from enacting and enforcing laws that punish those that hire and rent to illegal aliens.

The struggle against illegal immigration is obviously more than building the Hunter Fence, even though that would be a wonderful start! The struggle is against the politicians who, for a variety of unjust reasons, seek to bestow legal status on those who are now here and those who would come here illegally. The struggle is against those greedy employers that continue to hire illegals and those anti-sovereignty (for lack of a better descriptive term) judges that enable these employers.

The common sense steps that would go a long way toward facilitating the natural attrition of illegal aliens within our borders are rendered useless by the actions of those entities mentioned above. These types of rulings should serve as proof that our government has become too cumbersome and the bureaucracy seems to damage our nation as much or more than it proves useful!

Latino leaders and faith-based organizations are calling for Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio to disconnect the hotline he created for people to report information about undocumented immigrants.

The hotline, they say, perpetuates a climate of fear within the immigrant community, raises the chance of racial profiling and opens the possibility for people to take revenge on former friends and family.

“What right does he have to investigate people based on the color of their skin, or their accent or the way they look,” said Phoenix attorney Antonio Bustamante. “I want him to stop this nonsense and enforce criminal law instead of going after landscapers and nannies. He needs to stop this hotline.”
On Wednesday, Arpaio said he won’t disconnect the hotline and stressed that deputies would investigate people only if authorities had probable cause. He declined to specify techniques the Sheriff’s Office will use to determine that.

Since it began Friday, the hotline has received about 300 messages, which include tips about family and friends, employment, day laborers, drop houses and crank calls. Officials are analyzing the tips, Arpaio said, and officials have not acted on any of the calls.

“There’s nothing unconstitutional about putting up a hotline,” Arpaio said, pointing out that U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement have similar hotlines.

In fact, Arpaio told The Republic, he is stepping up efforts to crack down on illegal immigration by forbidding undocumented immigrants to visit friends and family in county jails. “Once they come in, we’re going to have to arrest them and turn them over to ICE.”

The hotline, (602) 876-4154, is part of an expanded immigration enforcement plan Arpaio unveiled last week that also includes sheriff’s deputies cross-trained to enforce immigration law.

Outraged, some Latino advocacy groups will launch a hotline of their own to take tips from people who believe they’ve been unfairly reported to Arpaio’s hotline, said activist Mary Rose Wilcox, a Maricopa County supervisor. Lawyers and activists are working out details on how their hotline would work and who would investigate complaints.

Mexican-Chinese drug lord arrested

27 07 2007

It’s being called the “world’s largest seizure of drug cash” ever. The man, Zhenli Ye Gon, arrested on drug and money-laundering charges” and accused “of importing enough chemicals into Mexico to make $724 million worth of methamphetamine, mostly destined for the U.S.”

July 24 (Bloomberg) — Mexican-Chinese businessman Zhenli Ye Gon was arrested on drug and money-laundering charges by U.S. authorities, who accused him of importing enough chemicals into Mexico to make $724 million worth of methamphetamine, mostly destined for the U.S.

Ye Gon was arrested in the Maryland suburbs of Washington last night, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency said today.

The arrest follows a March raid on Ye Gon’s Mexico City home in which Mexican authorities found $207 million in cash, the biggest seizure ever of suspected drug money. Mexican traffickers supply at least 80 percent of the methamphetamine consumed in the U.S., according to the DEA.

“We’ve apprehended not only the man behind the money, but the man behind the meth,” DEA Administrator Karen Tandy said in a statement.

The U.S. and Mexico began joint efforts to combat methamphetamine trafficking last year, and the DEA helped train more than 2,000 Mexican police officers.

Update: Price’s Legislation to Ensure Deportation of Criminal Aliens

27 07 2007

I contacted Rep. Price, Democrat from North Carolina, who sponsored legislation to require ICE to keep track of alien criminals in local jails.  His office emailed me back with the following information:

This direction to ICE is included in the Fiscal Year 2008 Homeland Security Appropriations bill, H.R. 2638, which passed the House in June.  See page 41 of the Committee report accompanying H.R. 2638, which provides more details (Link here: Report)The Senate is expected to consider its version of the bill this week, and we hope to have agreement on a final bill that both the House and Senate can approve by mid-September.

Here is the text of the proposed law:

PRIORITIES ENFORCING IMMIGRATION LAWS

The Committee is concerned that, as ICE increases its interior enforcement efforts as part of the Secure Border Initiative, the agency is losing perspective on which aliens represent the most significant threat to the nation’s social and economic fabric. The Committee questions why a significant number of illegal aliens serving sentences in State and local correctional facilities after conviction for various non-immigration crimes are still released from custody

without efforts made to deport those who are deportable. According to ICE estimates, approximately 630,000 foreign nationals are currently serving criminal sentences in U.S. prisons and jails, yet in 2005 ICE identified and deported only 79,000 of these individuals, leaving approximately 551,000 criminal aliens who have yet to be identified and processed for removal from the country. While estimates vary, many who analyze this problem believe a significant number of criminal aliens are released back into society after completing their sentences, rather than being processed for removal from the country.

CRIMINAL ALIEN PROGRAM

The Committee allocates $180,009,000 for the ICE Criminal Alien Program (CAP), which is $14,000,000 more than the amount requested and an increase of $42,515,000 above the 2007 enacted level. The Committee strongly encourages ICE to ensure that all incarcerated aliens eligible for deportation are removed from the country upon their release. Toward that end, the Committee includes statutory language requiring ICE to collect information from

every jail, prison and detention facility in the United States on a monthly basis to determine the population of incarcerated aliens, and to develop a plan to remove every removable alien upon their release from the corrections system. According to the Bureau of Prisons, nationwide there are approximately 1,500 Federal and State correctional institutions, and another 3,500 locally-administered jails. While contacting all of these facilities on a regular basis will require coordination and effort on the part of the agency, ICE has more than 8,000 employees who work on domestic investigations and who could help with this effort. The Committee directs ICE to report no later than January 1, 2008, on how it will meet this goal, the need for additional resources to do so, and its successes and challenges in working with State and local corrections managers.

Macy’s catering to Hispanics backfires

27 07 2007

Macy’s campaign to cater to Hispanics is called “Brown is the New White.” The new line of clothing, (including t-shirts that say “I is for illegal”, and more that are so repulsive I cannot print it here), has been rejected by Hispanics, calling the line “offensive.” Macy’s is now removing the merchandise from shelves.

The shirt — part of a clothing line exclusively aimed at Latina shoppers looking to express cultural identity through fashion — reads “Brown is the New White,” across the chest.

Macy’s apologized for its decision to sell the shirt, and released a statement.

“We are constantly looking for unique and differentiated merchandise that will resonate with our customers as hip, current and trendy. We also continue to work in developing business relationships with minority vendors to serve the growing diverse customer base. We apologize if customers have found some of the merchandise offensive and have removed the style that they found objectionable.” (Fox)

Hispanic marketing expert Dr. Ed Rincon said:

“Macy’s doesn’t know a whole lot about what Hispanics want in the way of clothing. It also says that Macy’s doesn’t understand Hispanic culture. More importantly, it says that Macy’s doesn’t understand the Hispanics that lives in the U.S. and the kinds of products they are looking for.” (AHN)

Photo via MyFoxLA

Photo_servlet

From hummers and cigarettes:

I dunno … it was hip to sell “It’s a Black thing. You wouldn’t understand.” I saw Jeeps with the window sticker “It’s a Jeep thing. You wouldn’t understand.” Can I have a t-shirt that says “I’m White. Can you explain it to me again?” Or, how ’bout: “I’m White and I’m Sorry!”

From WackBag:

As a white man I find this offensive, but Macy’s doesn’t give a shit about us, because the assumption is that whites are allowed to be offended.

From Mi blog es tu blog

As for myself, I’m still stunned… $24.95 for a crummy Made-in-El Salvador T-Shirt? you gotta be kidding me!

On illegal aliens and crimes that make you say, “WHAT???”, read “Some Animals Deserve to Be Hunted Down For The Good Of Society” at Chicago Ray. Here’s a taste:

And this case discussed below involves one of those people. This incredible situation involves the repeated rape of a young girl who is a relative of the defendant by a lying cheating foreigner granted asylum here in the US, whom in spite of schooling all the way through college played our court system like a bongo drum by falsely claiming he cannot speak English well enough to receive a fair trial, thus requiring an rare interpreter for an even rarer language that apparently only he and 100,000 Sierra Leone pygmies speak.

Years of physical and emotional torture, scars that may never be healed. The judge should be removed.

Law Enforcement WORKS

27 07 2007

Happy Monday, everyone! Finals are over, new classes have started, and now it’s time to get back to business…

Today I want to focus on how SB529 is affecting Georgia and its illegal immigrant population. Two things I have personally noted since the new laws have gone into effect:

- Car sales are taking a hit now that illegal immigrants cannot get vehicle tags without proper identification.
- More ‘Now Hiring’ signs going up for local businesses.

Let’s see what the news media is reporting:

Rumor has it that many illegal immigrant families in Georgia are planning to leave the U.S. by December and it looks as if the new employee verification processes are starting to have an effect on the illegal immigration population.

Georgia businesses are starting to evaluate their hiring practices so they will be in compliance with SB529, and so their business does not become the next target on ICE’s hit list.

Also in Georgia, some local counties have taken illegal immigration matters into their own hands by requiring any company that bids on their construction projects to have legal employees. Gwinnett county has received a small backlash from business owners, but commissioners are downplaying the issue saying that most business owners understand the county’s decision.

Interestingly, big agricultural businesses who regularly hire illegal immigrants are having no problems with keeping a steady stream of employees. In fact, it has been nearly three weeks since SB 529 has been in effect, and there is still a surplus of illegal immigrant workers available to the industry.

Regardless, the new laws and their enforcement seem to be working, and I suspect the surplus mentioned above will start to dwindle as more illegal immigrants find it harder to obtain personal transportation.

Now, if we could just get the open borders advocates to understand that enforcing the law is neither racist, nor xenophobic, we’ll be in great shape…

**POLITICS**

In political news, Georgia Senators Chambliss and Isakson are continuing to urge the President to supply emergency funding for the Mexican/American border fence that was passed last year…(which still isn’t built…) We know that the letter will likely fall on deaf ears, but at least the Senators are expressing what their constituents would like to see happen.

Until next time, folks…

Most Stupid Thing We Have Read All Day

23 07 2007

Cross posted from   In Muscatine

Des Moines Register | Arrest of Swift union official puzzles experts:

Union representatives or citizens have no duty to report someone they suspect isn’t legally in the United States, according to immigration attorney Lori Chesser of Des Moines.

This is interesting. Perhaps Ms. Chesser would care to enlighten us as to ALL the laws to which we have no duty to uphold, and thereby report when we see them broken. After all, didn’t the Nazis just try to claim they were “just following orders” in their attempt – unsuccessful attempt, we note – to escape punishment for their crimes?

After that list is submitted, then perhaps Ms. Chesser will favor us with a delightful dissertation as to why she should have a job at all. After all, if there is no duty to uphold law then why do we need laws and – by extension – lawyers?

We suspect that in law school, logic was not the strong suit of Ms. Chesser.

Our Broken Immigration System: It Just Makes No Sense

23 07 2007

Cross posted from   The Virtuous Republic

Usually on immigration, I’m pretty hardcore, but the following story bothers me for several reasons. The family in question, lives in the same township as I do and the school that they send their children to is only a couple of miles from The Virtuous Republic’s bunker. Here is their story:

An immigration agent called Maha Dakar to his office a few weeks ago and told her the time had come to make a choice.

Dakar began to weep.

The choice was simple, yet impossible: leave behind her Green Township home, her four young daughters and her husband and move to Jordan alone, or take the girls with her and subject them to a new and frightening life in a country they’d never seen.

Her husband was not permitted to go with her. She was not permitted to stay.

How could she decide, Dakar asked, when neither choice would keep her family together?

How could any mother do such a thing?

The sympathetic immigration agent gave Dakar a reprieve that day, but it will be short. She must report to him again in August with a plan to leave the country by October.

“We are willing to leave, but we want to leave as a family,” Dakar said last week. “We have no future because we don’t know where we will be.”

The family is on the verge of being split because of a rare combination of bad luck and uncompromising immigration laws, both in the United States and at least a half dozen countries around the world.

As Palestinians born in Kuwait, both Dakar and her husband, Bassam Garadah, are considered “stateless.”

In other words, they have no country to go home to.

Dakar carries a Jordanian passport and can be deported to that country. Garadah, who carries only Egyptian travel documents, cannot go with her or move anywhere else.

The couple came to America legally in 1997, they have permission to work and pay taxes, they report monthly to immigration officials and they have filed the paperwork necessary to obtain U.S. citizenship.

Unlike many of the 200,000 people facing deportation from the United States each year, Dakar and her family did not break any law.

They were deemed deportable after the courts rejected their application for political asylum, a decision that does not bar them from seeking citizenship but limits their time to do so.

It’s time the couple doesn’t have.

A huge backlog in applications means Dakar’s request for residency in the United States won’t be processed for at least five years, long after she is due to be deported.

“Our government wants people to do things the right, legal way,” said Douglas Weigle, the family’s attorney. “The only problem is the system is broke.”

The system may be flawed, but immigration officials are quick to point out that this case is more challenging than most.

The children – Basma, 9, Yasmine, 8, Rima, 7, and Dana, 5 – were born in America and are U.S. citizens. They can move with their mother or stay with their father.

That, of course, leaves the couple with an agonizing choice.

“I cannot make this decision,” Garadah said last week as he watched his four girls play in the living room of the family’s townhouse. “I cannot break my family.”

It is, in many respects, a family that is as American as any other.

The girls, each with the same jet-black hair and big brown eyes, bound around the house giggling and playing. They show off their American Girl dolls to visitors and talk excitedly about the new “Harry Potter” movie.

They have, clearly, embraced life in suburbia.

They attend Springmyer Elementary and divide their free time between soccer, swimming, piano and ballet lessons.

Evidence of their American childhood is everywhere: the hula hoop propped against a wall in the living room. A violin tucked beside the couch. Dolls scattered on coffee tables.

“This is my home,” Basma said. “America is like my roots.”

Those roots already run deep, despite the family’s short stay in the United States.

Many relatives are U.S. citizens or are in the process of becoming citizens, including Dakar’s parents, Garadah’s parents and several siblings.

Dakar, 39, is a fixture at Springmyer and volunteers for the PTA. She has a degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in biotechnology, but her main job now is raising the kids.

Garadah, 38, has supported the family by working long hours almost every day at an Avondale grocery.

It has not been easy lately, Dakar said. But it is the best life they have known.

“I love living here,” she said. “It’s a really wonderful country.”

Time running short

They don’t want to leave but say they would gladly do so if they could go together.

Basma summed up her parents’ dilemma last month when she spoke at a seminar on immigration issues in Cincinnati.

“I can’t live without my family,” she said. “I can’t break my heart in two pieces.”

Dakar and Garadah have struggled, along with immigration officials, to find a solution to their problem. The legal paperwork is stuffed into a folder several inches thick.

It chronicles one failed attempt after another to find a country that will accept the entire family.

They first tried Kuwait, the country where they were born, but were refused because of their Palestinian heritage. Jordan would accept Dakar but not Garadah, while Egypt would accept neither.

Both have relatives in the Israeli-occupied territories of the West Bank and Gaza, but neither is an option because Dakar and Garadah were not born there.

Finally, the family tried third-party countries, such as Canada. So far none has accepted them, although Canadian officials said their residency application would likely be approved.

The catch: It will take about five years to process the application.

“It’s difficult for us,” said Greg Palmore, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman. “We’re trying to secure a country they can go to.” He said immigration officials have shown restraint by allowing Dakar to remain here while she and her husband try to find somewhere – anywhere – they can move together.

But someday in the near future, Palmore said, Dakar will have to leave, with or without her husband and children.

Soon, Dakar and Garadah will have to make the choice they’ve been dreading.

“Our job is to enforce removal,” Palmore said, “and we will get to that part very shortly.”

Uncertainty hangs over the entire family.

A few weeks ago, the subject came up in the car while Dakar drove the children home.

“You can stay with Dad and I can go,” said Yasmine, 8.

“But I need you to help with my homework,” protested Rima, 7.

“Don’t talk like that,” Basma said. “We should all stay together.”

Basma, as the oldest, seems to appreciate the seriousness of the situation more than the others.

On the last day of school in June – after hearing friends repeatedly say, “We’ll see you next fall” – Basma broke down in tears.

That’s when friends and teachers first learned about the family’s troubles. Dakar and Garadah had tried to keep it quiet for as long as possible.

“I’m sorry, Mama,” Basma told Dakar that night. “I had to tell. I was so sad.”

Her outburst prompted friends and neighbors to launch a letter-writing campaign on the family’s behalf. The goal is to convince immigration officials and lawmakers to do whatever is necessary to keep the family together.

“They see the forced separation of the Garadah family as a tragedy,” said Tom Melvin, the principal at Springmyer. “Who wouldn’t?”

Dakar said the letters may not sway immigration officials, but they could help with a last-ditch appeal to local members of Congress. Under the law, Congress can approve a “private bill” that essentially grants a pardon to specific immigrants facing deportation.

The bills are rarely approved – Congress rejected all of them last year – but the Garadahs have asked U.S. Rep. Steve Chabot, R-Westwood, to sponsor a bill on their behalf.

“We’re doing everything we can,” said Chabot spokesman Gary Lindgren, who said the congressman would consider a private bill. “There’s really not an easy solution.”

He said Chabot’s office sent a letter to immigration officials last week urging them to keep looking for a third-party country to take the family.

“There’s a lot of sympathy, I think, among everyone involved,” Lindgren said.

`It breaks my heart’

Dakar and Garadah are exhausted with worry. They try not to think about the looming deadline, but they can’t help it.

It’s always with them.

“We never, ever thought it would come to this,” said Kristen AbuDakar, Dakar’s sister-in-law. “It breaks my heart.”

She said the family still has hope. But everyone worries about what will happen if

Dakar is forced to leave without her family, if she and her husband finally have to make that terrible choice.

The mother and father considered that question last week, and both just shook their heads.

“It’s not an easy decision,” Garadah said.

Dakar scooped up Basma and looked across the room at her husband.

“It’s balanced now,” she said. “We have the mother and the father. If one person is taken away, this whole circle is broken.”

Some might say, the law is the law. But I say, the father has a job. He pays taxes. The mother volunteers at the grade school and has a master’s degree in the sciences. We have people in this case who have followed the law, got jobs legally, and are well educated and we want to give them the heave-ho?Yet, and I say yet, we cater to the uneducated masses from Central America, who as we have found out over the past months, are likely not even to have a high school education, get payed on the black market and don’t pay taxes, burden our schools, overwhelm our welfare systems, and crowd our jails.

And when we have well-educated immigrants, who follow the laws, who are employed, and who make an effort to assimilate into our culture, we cold heartedly give them the boot.

To me, this is just another example of how our immigration system is broken. Everything is turned upside down. We encourage people without high school educations to enter, we turn a blind eye to illegal immigration, and our elites even wanted to make them citizens, but decent immigrants are sent away.

Is Bush Getting the Message on the Fence?

23 07 2007

Cross posted from The Virtuous Republic

Maybe, just maybe, the incredible pressure being brought to bear on the Bush administration is finally paying off. It seems Chertoff is finally going to start building the border fence. Of course, Americans still need to remain skeptical and only the finished fence will be proof of our government’s commitment to securing our southern border.

Construction on a border wall in southern Texas is expected to begin by this autumn, despite strong local opposition, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said in an interview published on Thursday.

Chertoff told the Houston Chronicle the federal government “can’t rule out” using powers of eminent domain to seize land for the wall that is intended to stem the flow of illegal immigrants entering the United States from Mexico.

In heavily Hispanic southern Texas, where cultural and economic ties to Mexico run deep, local officials, business groups and environmentalists have spoken out against the wall as unnecessary and unwanted.

But Chertoff said national security was at stake, so the project will move ahead shortly.

“I expect we’ll be doing some construction in Texas this fiscal year,” he said, referring to the government fiscal year ending September 30.

Local officials said recently they had been told the Homeland Security department plans to have 153 miles of wall in place in Texas by the end of 2008.

Great nations don’t die, they commit national suicide

23 07 2007

Cross posted from   Right Truth

“A hundred years ago, President Teddy Roosevelt said, “The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing as a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities.”

That’s the beginning of the article “BALKANIZATION OF AMERICA ACCELERATING” By Frosty Wooldridge,
July 16, 2007, NewsWithViews.com. Here’s a portion:

Following that wisdom, the USA immigrated 175,000 people annually from compatible countries from 1924 through 1964. They assimilated by speaking English and became a part of our fabric of life. They met the criteria for religion, culture and similarities with America. In 1965, Senator Teddy Kennedy committed the greatest act against the continuation of America by stealth introduction and passage of the Immigration Reform Act that countered Roosevelt’s wisdom. From 175,000 compatible immigrants annually, he added a “human Tsunami” of one million people from the four corners of the globe–annually. They included people from third and fourth world cultures still living in grass huts, those who never saw a toilet or water from a spigot, ethnic-strife-ridden countries and religions totally at odds with America which maintained Christianity as its major religion for 231 years. At that point, the Balkanization of America began.

For the past 40 years, tens of millions of people flooded into America to create ghetto enclaves that maintain their own languages, live off welfare and multiply in numbers as they utilize public assistance. For example, at Parkland Hospital in Texas, 90 percent of the newborns arrive at taxpayer expense by penniless immigrants. ‘Colonias’ known as ‘new neighborhoods’ spread like wildfire in the Southwest inside our borders. According to the New York Times, over one million Mexicans live in trailers or tar shacks with no running water, roads, sewage or electricity. Teddy Kennedy called his immigration bill the gift of diversity and multiculturalism. [snip]

In Europe, victim-countries of diversity overload and multicultural internal conflict prove debilitating in Holland, Belgium, Great Britain, France and Sweden. Only fools and corpses don’t change their minds.

Yet, the United States, in its ignorance and/or arrogance continues adding in excess of one million legal and one million illegal people annually. Most originate from third world countries and cultures. Illegals and millions of legal immigrants feel no need to assimilate into our culture or language.

As shown by immigrant medical doctors from the Middle East attempting to blow up London last week, or gang rapes by Middle Eastern immigrants in Sweden on a weekly basis, or riots and bombings in France and Spain by disgruntled immigrants, or Theo Van Gogh being knifed to death for directing at 15 minute movie written by Hirsi Ali in Holland, or one immigrant screaming that England would “fall to Islam” in the near future—how many clues does Western civilization need before it awakens?

Further evidence: last month in New Jersey, the Fort Dix Six, all immigrants, both legal and illegal, some living here for 20 years, made plans to “kill as many U.S. soldiers on base as possible” before they were killed. [snip]

Thousands of cases of Americans suffering confrontations with immigrants occur daily. [snip]

As we allow millions of foreign language speaking immigrants to take over our educational systems in Spanish, and more in Arabic in Detroit—watch for more confrontations that lead to violence when Americans can’t understand one another. [snip]

Seymour Lipset, the great historian said, “Great nations don’t die, they commit national suicide.” Last month, Teddy Kennedy tried to pass another immigration amnesty that doubled current legal immigration levels from one million to two million annually. Again, from places like Darfur, Sudan, Congo, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, China and Egypt! He worked for amnesty for all illegal alien migrants. If he should get his wish in the future, the Balkanization and destruction of America accelerates to its final conclusion. It won’t be pretty for Americans or immigrants.

OTM’s smuggled across the border, specifically Iraqi and other Middle Eastern

18 07 2007

Cross posted from    Right Truth

“Iraqis and other Middle Eastern” individuals are being smuggled across the Mexican border into the United States, according to The Blotter. This should be a enough reason to secure the borders, since we know that Middle Eastern groups want to get inside the US; bring nuclear, biological, and/or chemical agents with them; and set off major attacks inside the United States.

It’s not just those that are being smuggled across the borders we need to worry about. Think of the large numbers of Middle Eastern individuals that are allowed into the country and over stay their visas, or come here under ‘hardship’ conditions. The FBI is investigating an alleged human smuggling operation based in Chaparral, N.M., that agents say is bringing “Iraqis and other Middle Eastern” individuals across the Rio Grande from Mexico.

An FBI intelligence report distributed by the Washington, D.C. Joint Terrorism Task Force, obtained by the Blotter on ABCNews.com, says the illegal ring has been bringing Iraqis across the border illegally for more than a year. [snip]

The FBI report, issued last week, says the smuggling organization “used to smuggle Mexicans, but decided to smuggle Iraqi or other Middle Eastern individuals because it was more lucrative.” Each individual would be charged a fee of $20,000 to $25,000, according to the report.

The people to be smuggled would “gather at a house on the Mexican side of the border” and then cross the Rio Grande into the U.S., the report says.

Unidentified individuals would then transport them to train stations in El Paso, Texas or Belen, New Mexico,” according to the FBI document. (more)

President Bush promised to resettle 7,000 Iraqi refugees here by the end of the year.

It is not only Iraqis who have been smuggled across the border, and re-housed by Catholic Refugee Services in Chicago and Detroit. Out of the [realistic] estimated 20-30 million recent illegals who have entered the country, many millions arrived by plane, and are well trained, ex-Arab fighters…sent to the United States to raise money and prepare for the ultimate jihad. These Illegals are referred to as “OTM’s” or “Other than Mexicans”.Look at it this way; combined U.S. Forces in Iraq number @ 160,000 men and women. During the past six years we have “welcomed” at the very least….. TEN TIMES THAT MANY Arabs, Somalis and Pakstanis into our midst. Most of the “new arrivals”…(or “refugees” as the Administration prefers to call them) are ex-military from some of the most despotic regimes on the planet.

We are seriously out numbered. (–Michael, via email)

The government is now admitting we have problems inside the United States with security at facilities that maintain nuclear materials.

The General Accounting Office has issued it’s report on security of Nuclear materials. We should be a little bit more nervous……………………………now that the Fed has admitted to “problems”. (Michael, via email)

President Reagan, speaking about the Berlin Wall, said the United States did not have to wall her people in. Perhaps we need to wall the enemy out.

ABC News Reports: Iraqis/Arabs Smuggled Across the Rio Grande

18 07 2007

Cross posted from    The Virtuous Republic

Brian Ross of ABC News, reports that for the last year, “Iraqis and other Middle Eastern individuals” have been smuggled across our southern border, from Mexico.

An FBI intelligence report distributed by the Washington, D.C. Joint Terrorism Task Force, obtained by the Blotter on ABCNews.com, says the illegal ring has been bringing Iraqis across the border illegally for more than a year.

Border Patrol officials in the area said they were unaware of the specifics of the FBI’s report, and federal prosecutors in New Mexico told ABCNews.com they had no current cases involving the illegal smuggling of Iraqis.

“Unidentified individuals would then transport them to train stations in El Paso, Texas or Belen, New Mexico,” according to the FBI document.

If these “Middle Eastern” men are paying $20,000 or more to be smuggled across the border, more than likely they aren’t desperate refugees fleeing war torn Iraq.

First, is this report true? There is nothing at the JTTF site, so far as I can see.

Second, and this is the saddest fact, it will not only take this report to be true, but it will take the act of smuggled jihadis blowing up a mall or some such other act, before our elites will be forced to secure our border with Mexico.

In Mexico, “violence in the northern state of Nuevo Leon has erupted once again, starting with the attempted assassination of a police chief in Guadalupe on July 14, followed by the targeted killing on July 15 of a police officer in the wealthy Monterrey suburb of San Nicolas de los Garza.” Cease fires are being broken; the cartels and kidnapping rings are working in full force; increased security is, well, “a burden?” (via StratFor)

Mexicomap071607July 9 – The body of a man was found wrapped in a blanket with his arms tied behind his back and a single gunshot wound to the neck in Tonala, Jalisco state.

One man died and another was wounded during an attack by six heavily armed men in the Tierra Caliente region of Michoacan state.

July 10 – Police discovered the body of a man in a shallow grave with his arms tied behind his back and two gunshot wounds to his head in Charapan, Michoacan state.

July 11 – hree gunmen died in a firefight with federal police on a highway near Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas state.
July 12 – Mexican soldiers on a routine patrol in Sonora state seized 3.5 tons of marijuana, four vehicles and a number of federal police uniforms.

July 13 – Federal police in Tijuana, Baja California state, detained three members of the Gabacho kidnapping gang, which is suspected in the abduction of several local business owners.

U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Tony Garza condemned threats to U.S. journalists by cartel hit men.

Police in Veracruz state reported that six people had been kidnapped in separate incidents by heavily armed men wearing uniforms similar to those of the Federal Investigative Agency.

July 14 – The body of a man wrapped in a blanket was found along a highway outside Acapulco, Guerrero state. He evidently had been tortured.

July 15 – Two men were found shot to death on the side of a highway in Durango state.

Two men were shot to death by several gunmen in Lazaro Cardenas, Michoacan state, in apparently related incidents.

And all that is coming to towns near your, compliments of the North American Union. Goodbye America, Hello North American Union by Alan Caruba

In a month, August 20 and 21, the leaders of the United States, Canada, and Mexico will sit down together in Montebello, Quebec to discuss making the borders between these three nations disappear. They will discuss progress on a vast highway project passing through America to link Mexico with Canada. So far, no one has asked the citizens of these three nations whether they want to do this. It is not up for a vote in Congress and, indeed, Congress has no supervision over the gnomes in the U.S. Department of Commerce who are busily “harmonizing” the laws under the auspices of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP).

This, we’re told, is not a treaty so Congress has no constitutional oversight obligation. I guess it’s more like a nice big handshake between the presidents and prime minister of these three nations who, let’s face it, just know better than the rest of us. [snip]

Perhaps when Congress begins to raise our taxes, authorize a superhighway, and offer yet another amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, the American people may take notice and want to do something about it. By then, however, it will be too late.

That’s what President Bush is counting on. Meanwhile, he has a big calendar counting down the days to January 20, 2008 when he can start cashing in on having sold out the rest of us. (read it all here)

In case you were wondering why President George W. Bush doesn’t want to secure the borders, now you have your answer.

The Piecemeal Immigration Reform

18 07 2007

Cross posted from   Bear Creek Ledger

So the pro-illegal alien politicians couldn’t get their amnesty plan passed in the light of day.  Now they are trying to sneak it in the dark of night by adding sections of the bill to unrelated bills.

Cross posted from Christi at Common Sense America:

What do our elected officials do when they don’t get their way on the issue of amnesty for illegal aliens? They simply piecemeal the amnesty bill and try to sneak it into other bills. They think we won’t notice.

Yeah, right!

This week, The Dream Act will rear its ugly head as Senator Dick Durbin tries to insert it into our Defense Authorization Bill. On Friday, Durbin stated:

What I tried to do several years ago was to write a law to take into consideration these young people. It is called the DREAM Act. The DREAM Act was a part of this comprehensive immigration reform
bill. Here is what it says: If you came to the United States before the age of 16, if you have lived in this country for at least 5 years, if you graduate from high school, and then if you will complete either 2 years of college or 2 years of service in the military, we will give you an opportunity for legal status in America.

Durbin announced that he would be offering the Dream Act as an amendment this week:

On the floor of the Senate, when we return next week, we will resume consideration of the Defense authorization bill. It turns out that many in the Department of Defense believe, as I do, that the
DREAM Act is an important part of making certain we have talented young men and women ready to serve in our military. I have spoken to people at the Department of Defense who support the idea of the DREAM Act. I think we ought to include it in the Defense authorization bill. I hope to have that opportunity. [snip]

I hope when we return to the Defense authorization bill we can makethe DREAM Act part of that bill. Certainly, it is going to help ourdefense and help our military. I think it is going to help America evenbeyond that. [snip]

Mr. President, as I said, I rise to speak about legislation known as the DREAM Act, which I hope to offer as an amendment to the Defense authorization bill.

And Durbin goes on to say how much Americans need these illegal aliens – our military will crumble without them, ahem, well, at least according to Durbin:

Some people might ask why the Senate should revisit immigration again and whether an immigration amendment should be included in the Defense authorization bill. The answer is simple: The DREAM Act would address a very serious recruitment crisis that faces our military.

Under the DREAM Act, tens of thousands of well-qualified potentialrecruits would become eligible for military service for the first time. They are eager to serve in the Armed Forces during a time of war. Andunder the DREAM Act they would have a very strong incentive to enlist because it would give them a path to permanent legal status.

Trying to hide amnesty for illegal aliens in the Defense Authorization bill by pretending that it is necessary for ourDepartment of Defense and our military is a bunch of hooey and we allknow it.

And, of course, Durbin then goes into a chorus of “they are only here to do the job that Americans won’t do” as he cites a survey that compares Hispanics to Caucasians:

The DREAM Act doesn’t mandate military service. Astudent who is otherwise eligible could earn legal status by attendingcollege. It would be inconsistent with the spirit our volunteermilitary to force young people to enlist as a condition for obtaininglegal status.

But the DREAM Act creates a strong incentive for military service. And many DREAM Act kids come from a demographic group that is alreadypredisposed towards military service. A 2004 survey by the Rand Corporation found that 45 percent of Hispanic males and 31 percent of Hispanic females between ages 16 and 21 were very likely to serve in the Armed Forces, compared to 24 percent of White men and 10 percent of White women.

Ok, that’s Dick Durbin’s spin on the Dream Act but let’s get a few thoughts from a person that actually possesses a bit of sanity and wisdom…

Kris Kobach wrote an article for The Heritage Foundation after the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006 (S. 2611) was passed by the U.S. Senate about this amendment in which he explains that the Dream Act has less to do with our military and a whole lot to do with a general amnesty:

The DREAM Act is a nightmare. It repeals a 1996 federal law that prohibits any state from offering in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens unless the state also offers in-state tuition rates to
all U.S. citizens. On top of that, the DREAM Act offers a separate amnesty to illegal-alien students.

It also gives amnesty to ten states that openly violate Federal law, Kobach writes:

Events of the past 10 years illustrate how the DREAM Act would undermine the rule of law. In September 1996, Congress passed the landmark Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA). Led by Lamar Smith (R–TX) in the House of Representatives and
Alan Simpson (R– WY) in the Senate, Congress significantly toughened the nation’s immigration laws. To his credit, President Bill Clinton signed the bill into law.

Open-borders advocates in some states — most notably California —had already raised the possibility of offering in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens who attend public universities. To prevent such adevelopment, the IIRIRA’s sponsors inserted a clearly worded provision that prohibited any state from doing so unless it provided the samediscounted tuition to all U.S. citizens:

“Notwithstanding any other provision of law, an alien who is not lawfully present in the United States shall not be eligible on the basis of residence within a State (or a political subdivision) for any postsecondary education benefit unless a citizen or national of the United States is eligible for such a benefit (in no less an amount, duration, and scope) without regard to whether the citizen or national
is such a resident.”

Members of Congress reasoned that no state would be interested in giving up the extra revenue from out-of-state students, so this provision would ensure that illegal aliens would not be rewarded with a taxpayer-subsidized college education. The IIRIRA’s proponents neverimagined that some states might simply disobey federal law.

But, according to Kobach, that didn’t stop some of the states:

The majority of state legislatures had the good sense to reject the idea, but eight states followed the examples of California and Texas, including some states in the heart of “red” America. Today,
the 10 states that offer in-state tuition to illegal aliens are California, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and Washington.

In most of these states, the law was passed under cover of darkness because public opinion was strongly against subsidizing the college education of illegal aliens at taxpayer expense. The governors even declined to hold press conferences or signing ceremonies heralding the new laws.

Under the “cover of darkness” – sound familiar? What our constituents don’t know, won’t hurt us … or so they think.

But in-state tuition isn’t the only `gift’ in the Dream Act that Koback found:

This amnesty opens a wide path to citizenship for any alien who entered the country before the age of 16 and has been in the country for at least five years. As with the rest of the Senate bill, the guiding notion seems to be “The longer you have violated federal law, the better.”

Beyond that, all the alien needs is a high school diploma or a GED earned in the United States. Alternatively, he need only persuade an institution of higher education in the United States—any communitycollege, technical school, or college—to admit him.

The DREAM Act abandons any pretense of “temporary status” for the illegal aliens who apply. Instead, all amnesty recipients are awarded lawful permanent resident (green card) status. The only caveat is that the alien’s status is considered “conditional” for the first six years. To move on to the normal green card, the alien need only obtain a degree from any institution of higher education, complete two years toward a bachelor’s degree, or show that doing so would present a hardship to himself or his family members. Of course, an alien with a normal green card can bring in family members and seek citizenship.

Furthermore, the DREAM Act makes it absurdly easy for just about any illegal alien — even one who does not qualify for the amnesty — to evade the law. According to Section 624(f), once an alien files an application — any application, no matter how ridiculous — the federal government is prohibited from deporting him. Moreover, with few exceptions, federal officers are prohibited from either usinginformation from the application to deport the alien or sharing that information with another federal agency, under threat of up to $10,000 fine. Thus, an alien’s admission that he has violated federal immigration law cannot be used against him — even if he never had any chance of qualifying for the DREAM Act amnesty in the first place. The DREAM Act also makes illegal aliens eligible for various federal student loans and work-study programs.

What part of NO don’t these clowns understand? The American people have angrily tried to shout down amnesty and public benefits to people who illegally enter this country but Durbin and Company continue to try to spend our tax dollars on it anyway.

It is typical for our elected officials to betray us by taking parts of failed legislation and attaching them to legislation that they know will pass.

This has to be stopped now or the amnesty bill we just succeeded in killing will be resurrected and passed – piece-by-piece.

We are going to have to watch these guys like a bunch of two-year-olds. I’ve got to tell you, friends, I sure get tired of babysitting them and I hope we elect some adults in 2008.

Illegal Immigration Alert: It’s BAAAAACK!

16 07 2007

Cross posted from Common Sense America

What do our elected officials do when they don’t get their way on the issue of amnesty for illegal aliens? They simply piecemeal the amnesty bill and try to sneak it into other bills. They think we won’t notice.

Yeah, right!

This week, The Dream Act will rear its ugly head as Senator Dick Durbin tries to insert it into our Defense Authorization Bill. On Friday, Durbin stated:

What I tried to do several years ago was to write a law to take into consideration these young people. It is called the DREAM Act. The DREAM Act was a part of this comprehensive immigration reform bill.

It turns out that many in the Department of Defense believe, as I do, that the DREAM Act is an important part of making certain we have talented young men and women ready to serve in our military. I have spoken to people at the Department of Defense who support the idea of the DREAM Act. I think we ought to include it in the Defense authorization bill. I hope to have that opportunity. [snip]

I hope when we return to the Defense authorization bill we can make the DREAM Act part of that bill. Certainly, it is going to help our defense and help our military. I think it is going to help America even beyond that. [snip]

Under the DREAM Act, tens of thousands of well-qualified potential recruits would become eligible for military service for the first time. They are eager to serve in the Armed Forces during a time of war. And under the DREAM Act they would have a very strong incentive to enlist because it would give them a path to permanent legal status.

Trying to hide amnesty for illegal aliens in the Defense Authorization bill by pretending that it is necessary for our Department of Defense and our military is a bunch of hooey and we all know it.

And, of course, Durbin then goes into a chorus of “they are only here to do the job that Americans won’t do” as he cites a survey that compares Hispanics to Caucasians:

The DREAM Act doesn’t mandate military service. A student who is otherwise eligible could earn legal status by attending college. It would be inconsistent with the spirit our volunteer military to force young people to enlist as a condition for obtaining legal status.

But the DREAM Act creates a strong incentive for military service. And many DREAM Act kids come from a demographic group that is already predisposed towards military service.

It repeals a 1996 federal law that prohibits any state from offering in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens unless the state also offers in-state tuition rates to all U.S.

Led by Lamar Smith (R–TX) in the House of Representatives and Alan Simpson (R– WY) in the Senate, Congress significantly toughened the nation’s immigration laws. To his credit, President Bill Clinton signed the bill into law.

Open-borders advocates in some states — most notably California — had already raised the possibility of offering in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens who attend public universities. To prevent such a development, the IIRIRA’s sponsors inserted a clearly worded provision that prohibited any state from doing so unless it provided the same discounted tuition to all U.S. citizens:

“Notwithstanding any other provision of law, an alien who is not lawfully present in the United States shall not be eligible on the basis of residence within a State (or a political subdivision) for any postsecondary education benefit unless a citizen or national of the United States is eligible for such a benefit (in no less an amount, duration, and scope) without regard to whether the citizen or national is such a resident.”

Members of Congress reasoned that no state would be interested in giving up the extra revenue from out-of-state students, so this provision would ensure that illegal aliens would not be rewarded with a taxpayer-subsidized college education. The IIRIRA’s proponents never imagined that some states might simply disobey federal law.

But, according to Kobach, that didn’t stop some of the states:

The majority of state legislatures had the good sense to reject the idea, but eight states followed the examples of California and Texas, including some states in the heart of “red” America. Today, the 10 states that offer in-state tuition to illegal aliens are California, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and Washington.

But in-state tuition isn’t the only ‘gift’ in the Dream Act that Koback found:

This amnesty opens a wide path to citizenship for any alien who entered the country before the age of 16 and has been in the country for at least five years. As with the rest of the Senate bill, the guiding notion seems to be “The longer you have violated federal law, the better.”

Beyond that, all the alien needs is a high school diploma or a GED earned in the United States. Alternatively, he need only persuade an institution of higher education in the United States—any community college, technical school, or college—to admit him.

July 13th, 2007 by Sam Pierce

I saw a news flash from Eagle Forum this morning which called for the citizens to act once again. Everyone that believes justice is not being served by the prosecution and imprisonment of our border guards should once again call their senators!
Senate Hearing Schedule

10 a.m.

    Judiciary
To hold hearings to examine the prosecution of Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean.
                                                      SD-226

I also saw a confirmation of my support of Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo in the same article at Eagle Forum. Duncan Hunter introduced HR 563 on January 18 and it has 100 co-sponsors, including Tancredo. This bill is called the: “Congressional Pardon For Border Patrol Agents Compean And Ramos Act.”

Concerned citizens have the opportunity to once again be heard. Please call your Senators today!
