What does it Take, to Come here Legally?

An Uncooperative Reader, Jim, sent me this via email. He graciously gave me permission to share it.

How many really know what it takes to get into this
country legally?

First and foremost, we need to forget about the
politics and the spin that the media (from either
side) put on the issue of the so-called
illegal-immigrants. The politically correct term of
“illegal-immigrant” is an oxy-moronic term. They are
NOT immigrants, as this term is used to defined those
that have followed the laws of our nation and are
immigrating (legally).

We don’t need NEW laws. We only need to enforce the
laws that are already on the books… and by current
law, these people are breaking FEDERAL laws, which
classifies them as Illegal ALIENS and likely felons.

Therefore, if they are breaking the law, then they
should be pursued, captured and dealt with in
accordance with the law.

No, I’m not one of those right-wing extremists, as I’m
sure some will jump up and scream! I’m an ordinary
American who is married to a LEGAL immigrant. I make
less than $27K/year, so I am by no means, making a lot
of money. We spent months and months (over 9 months)
filing the paperwork, PAYING the FEES, and all the
other requirements that were neccesitated by the
government in order for her to come here. And three
years later, we’re still having to file forms, pay
more fees and justify our reasons for her to be able
to stay here.

To give amnesty to these Illegals in any fashion or
form is a slap in the face to those that obey the
laws!

If our government provides these LAW-BREAKERS with any
sort of amnesty, then they should give me back all
that money that I paid them in fees and expenses that
we’ve had to pay for her to come here legally.

My wife and I can NOT use any government assistance
programs! If she needs medical care, she can not go to
a free clinic. If she does, I have to pay back the
government for those costs. She can not apply for
welfare, or any other public assistance, including
unemployment benefits.

Before she was allowed to IMMIGRATE, she had to
provide police reports showing that she had no
criminal background. She had to get a COMPLETE
physical to insure that she had no diseases,
communicable or otherwise, as it might be a cost to
the US government or a drain on the medical
facilities. This includes such things as cancer, heart
disease, etc., not to mention STDs, HIV, or any other
communicable diseases. Of course, we had to pay for
all these requirements before she could get a visa to
enter (yes, that cost us money, too).

If these ILLEGALS are allowed all of this for FREE!
THEN, I WANT MY MONEY BACK! AND I want access to all
the free medical care and other entitlements that
these ILLEGALS get by NOT following the LAW!

These are the views of a native born Texan and most of
all, an American. My wife is Canadian. Had she been an
illegal from the south, we’d probably have a much
better life. However, we’ll live ours the old
fashioned way… the American way!
