LOOKING AT THE REPUBLICAN PLAN FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION FROM TWO PERSPECTIVES

FIRST FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF MEXICO:

“I hope the new composition of the U.S. Congress allows a solution to the (immigration) issues,” Calderon told Mexican reporters, noting that Democrats have promoted immigration restructuring that includes some form of legalization for millions of Mexicans who are living in the United States now without legal documents.

“I explained our point of view that it(securing the border) isn’t – can’t – be a solution to the migration problem,” Calderon said.

Calderon met Bush immediately after the U.S. president had lunched with presumed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., to mend relations and discuss areas in which they could find common ground.

THEN THERE’S THE BUSH PERSPECTIVE:

“I think we have a good chance,” Bush said at a news conference. “It’s a vital issue … on which we can find some common ground with Democrats.”

“It’s early days, but there are real grounds for optimism,” said Elias Bermudez, the founder and executive director of Phoenix-based advocacy group Immigrants Without Borders.

“If President Bush is smart and is interested in getting something accomplished in his final two years as president, this is a natural issue for him,” said Michael Shifter, vice president for policy at the Inter-American Dialogue.

SEE?…..IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW YOU LOOK AT IT. THOUGH BOTH PICS CONTAIN REPUBLICAN ASSES……SO………………………
Where does that leave those Americans who are demanding enforcement of our laws? Time will tell. Powerful special intrest forces are against us…..but the Election has demonstrated something else too……..NO candidates (Dems or Repubs) ran on anything even close to a PRO IMMIGRATION platform. They knew it would be rejected by the American people. It was clear Americans do not want a plan that will open the borders OR grant amnesty and the Politicians stayed away from it.
Pro Illegal immigrant interest groups are trying hard to paint the election results as a victory bandwagon. The American people didn’t jump on before the election, and as we will see……they won’t be climbing on any time soon……
