UnDocumented Boomers To Flee To Mexico!!!

I believe I may have mentioned that John Lillpop excells at satire.

Here’s one of the most fall down laughing funniest things I’ve ever seen in ages! Check out John’s Open Letter To President Felipe Calderon: “Undocumented Boomers” Coming to Mexico, which I’ll shamelessly reprinted in full. I’ve highlighted some of his points in red!

John writes in WhizbangBombSquad:

Dear President Calderon:

As you are no doubt aware, America the Great is quickly becoming America the Gray. The so-called
“boomer” generation, comprised of approximately 40 million Americans, will soon reach retirement age.

America’s boomers are generally well educated, financially solvent, socially active, and, quite frankly, dead tired.

Our seniors yearn for a less frantic pace and a lifestyle that allows one to pause and smell the roses now and again. In other words, boomers are looking for the “Good Life” which is supposed to accrue to those who work 45 years, pay ungodly amounts in taxes, raise a family, put children through college, and baby-sit the grandchildren.

In the parlance of our youth, “Our Time Has Come.”

Unfortunately, the United States is no longer as hospitable as it once was to graying citizens.

As a result, boomers have decided to move en masse to your beloved Mexico, starting in May.

Knowing that the Mexican government is a strong proponent of open borders and liberal immigration policies (at least for Mexicans wishing to relocate in the U.S.), boomers anticipate that their needs and wishes will be fully accommodated with minimal interference and bureaucratic hassle.

In plain English, we expect to be treated like wealthy tourists, with all the perks and advantages attendant thereto.

Incidentally, we prefer to be called “undocumented boomers.”

President Calderon, I am delighted to announce that 40 million undocumented American boomers are headed to Mexico!

Viva America!

Current plans call for about 500,000 boomers to cross the border into Mexico each month, starting in May of this year.

As with any complex transition, there are several “ground rules” that must be followed in order to make this change seamless for undocumented boomers.
Accordingly, your attention is directed to the following action items:

* Mexican sovereignty, borders, and immigration laws are essentially null and void with respect to undocumented boomers. No attempt shall be made to enforce said restrictions on these good hearted, hard working Americans.

* Undocumented boomers shall receive unlimited education, food, housing, legal assistance, and geriatric care on demand, the cost of which shall be borne solely by Mexican taxpayers.

* Mexican hospitals, medical clinics, and emergency rooms shall be obligated to meet the medical needs of all undocumented boomers, without regard to ability to pay.
This obligation shall not be limited or restricted in any way because of any real or projected negative impact on Mexico’s medical systems, including the loss of vital services to Mexican citizens.

* Although undocumented boomers shall not be obligated to pay for medical services received in Mexico, they shall be entitled to send $30-50 billion a year back to the United States with impunity. The Mexican government shall actively facilitate the transfer of such funds to America.

* English is the only language used by undocumented boomers; further, boomers have no desire or obligation to learn Spanish.

All legal, governmental, commercial, and financial documentation, including descriptions of free public services and opportunities available, shall be provided in English at no cost.

* Undocumented boomers shall be licensed to drive without regard to immigration status. All driver instruction and testing materials shall be in English.

* Blood relatives of undocumented boomers shall be eligible for the same reduced tuition rates offered to Mexican students in the nation legally. All instruction shall be provided in English. Immersion for the purpose of teaching Spanish is a failed concept and shall not be attempted.

* Undocumented boomers shall be eligible to vote in Mexican elections without any requirement to prove identity.

* America’s free speech, free love, and anti-government revolutions originated with activists in the undocumented boomer generation.

From time to time, it may be necessary for millions of boomers to take over the streets of Mexico in order to protest the rule of law when the “rights” of undocumented boomers are violated.

During such protests, boomers will wave Old Glory and scream “Yes, we can!” and “We are Mexico!” in English, as they protest the rule of law. All such activities are valid free speech expressions in a thriving Democracy. As a consequence, the Mexican government shall take no action to limit or impede protests by undocumented boomers.

* Americans celebrate the 4th of July to commemorate our independence from Great Britain. Undocumented boomers prefer to conduct business as normal on May 5, while celebrating the 4th of July.

* Undocumented boomers are very sensitive and are easily offended. Therefore, Mexicans shall refrain from using terms like “illegal alien,” “Red Neck,” or “Gringo” when addressing or discussing boomers. (Heh! I wonder how you say “self-centered” geezer in Spanish — FB)
In closing, Mr. President, let me assure you that undocumented boomers look forward to contributing positively to Mexican society, culture, and financial stability.

In doing so, we will attempt to do for Mexico what 30 million Mexican illegal aliens are currently doing to America!

With best regards and wishes for a diverse and free Mexico, I remain sincerely yours.

ROFL!!! I love this and wish I’d written it! He’s even labeled his piece “satire,” a message to clueless bloggers bumbling around the blogosphere; and I believe I’d mentioned John is a gentleman.

But the idea’s too funny! Instead of hanging around the US, agitating and voting for self-centered federal measures, and embarassing themselves and the rest of us with bizarre anti-war protests – send Boomers to Mexico. Heck, let’s donate to get them across the border.

I remember we were visiting a relative in Austin just before the US military went into Iraq, and there was this massive anti-war march, which stalled traffic downtown. We’d been on the way to take the kids to the Capitol, and were stalled with a front row seat to the protest march. The graying activists flowed around us, chanting “H3ll no, we won’t go!!!” I really wanted to open the car window and scream “Then, don’t enlist, MORONS!!!,” but Professor Budgie wouldn’t let me.

I do remember watching this geezer with a pendulous beer gut, and long, graying greasy hair tied artfully into a pony tail. A white tee shirt was (not quite)stretched over his lumpy gut. There was an enourmous “peace sign” painted on the front. “Free LOVE!!!” was painted alluringly in black block letters on the back. (I betcha he did it himself!)

While I marveled, slightly nauseated, over the tee-shirt, I observed him groping the butt of a young lady in tight jeans. I waited for her to slap him, but she was nice, smiled and shook her head slightly politely. Big mistake; she tried to RUN, but the crowd was dense, and he stayed right with her. Well, alot of younger women these days have no sense, and little self respect. One of the lessons of the feminism of my own youth is: “No means NO,” and as a woman, you have the perfect right to make it stick.

Okay. So the geezer apparently didn’t have a life or a job, but I’m wondering why his wife and kids let him out of the house without an escort. A grand daughter could have given some fashion tips.

The problem is that while John’s article is a satire, my observations of the Austin peace march are not; truth is often more bizarre than fiction.

At least they were not in Washington, where TV cameras from around the world could document and broadcast the lunacy and self centeredness of aging Americans.

Let’s go back to John’s article: I almost wish it weren’s satire, because it’s a wonderful idea: Sure. Let’s let the Boomers go to Mexico, so they can do for Mexico what they’ve done for the USA. I actually know a couple of Boomers who have retired to Mexico because it’s cheaper to live there. If we set up a fund to pay for airplane tickets, I’ll just bet that plenty of Americans would contribute! Let Calderon and the Federales could take care of those aging eyesores!

Let’s send Mother Sheehan and the gang, plus Jane Fonda and John Kerry along with John Murtha, Sean Penn, Robert Redford, Carl Levin and Chuckie Shumer. Let them protest in Mexico to have English road signs!

You know, Rumsfield and Rush Limbaugh are also Boomers; and I think Dick Cheney technically falls in the age range but Lord, let’s keep these guys around. I don’t think I’ve seen Cheney, Rummy or Limbaugh trying to relive their youth, and we need them where they are. But I do wish somebody would get Rumsfield to re-consider coming back to work! We need him in Washington these days …

Stetson Tip to John Lillpop!

I’ll try to crosspost his letter at RedState.com, and will also share it with the Coalition Against Illegal Immigration! He already posted it at WhizBang

Love the tongue in cheek humor.

And yes we are, “Documented Boomers To Fled To Mexico”!

And anyone that has ‘gone through the process’ knows that there is plenty of ‘documentation’ when immigrating to Mexico.

Here’s our boomer retirement in Mexico story.

Eight short years ago, when the dotcom bubble was bursting in and around us in Silicon Valley, California, my husband and I decided to do something different.

We decided to shutter our business in Silicon Valley and check out of the rat race for a while and travel Mexico. We were your classic workaholic professional couple and had not had a 10 day vacation in more than 18 years!

During our three month trip, we wound up buying a fabulous modern Mexican villa on the shores of Lake Chapala. There is a decent sized English speaking expat population in the village of Ajijic.

We came home with the plan to sell our Los Gatos abode and get out of Dodge. Which we did.

We packed up and moved to Mexico.

We are sooo glad we did what we did and have not looked back.

The Lake Chapala area has a great quality of life and we can live on one social security check because of the great cost of living with out scrimping.

We live in a Modern Mexican home with over 3,000 square foot construction and per year pay under $100.00 US in property taxes (garbage pick up 6 days a week included).

We own two homes out right without mortgages. All of this may sound like wealth. But trust me we are very middle class that found a way out.

Happily Retired Boomer in Ajijic, Mexico,

Casa Preciosa, Ajijic, Mexico
