The Senate is set to vote as early as Tuesday. Bipartisan members
can’t wait to push the immigration bill through, while opponents will
do everything they can to stop the bill. We can’t depend on our
politicians in Washington, and many states are taking the burden upon
themselves to pass much needed legislation.

“We’re going to use every effort to slow this process down and
continue to hold up the bill and read it to the American people and
show them that even though they may favor the ideals of the
legislation, that the legislation won’t get us there,” Senator Jeff
Sessions, Republican of Alabama and a leading opponent, said Sunday on
ABC’s “This Week.” (The Caucus- NYT)

Captain’s Quarters: States: Immigration Front Line

The Washington Post reports that anti-illegal immigration
legislation has more than doubled this year in state legislatures, and

illegals from remaining inside state borders, if not national.

The BEST Illegal Immigration Message, according to Flanders Fields, is
this one at Americans for Legal Immigration.

Immigration: beyond demonstrating the human face, Happenings Here:

while its corporate poohbahs drool over “reform” as a chance to import
slave labor. Nobody is satisfied; everyone goes away mad.

Support Falling For Immigration Bill, Reflections by J. Schenone:

Democrats are taking hits from their normal allies who say the
bill is bad for workers.

UPDATE: Martin at Blogbat informs me that I beat The Drudge Report by
days, on the Democrats are working against Fred Thompson
