Holy Mary Mother of God!!!! Did you hear my Senator, George Voinovich of Ohio, on Sean Hannity today? The interview centered on the immigration bill.
What a pompous jackass! What an arrogant SOB! What an ignoramus. I wish I had the conversation recorded, but here is the basic gist:
-Hannity asked about the “Fairness Doctrine”. Voinovich had no clue as to what it was or he really is for it.
-Senator said Hutchinson’s amendment to require illegals to go back home passed. Too bad it failed today.
-Voinovich said talk radio listeners were calling his office and intimidating him over the immigration bill.
-Quote, “You do not intimidate George Voinovich.”
-He says he studies bills and votes the way he wants to. If you don’t like it, don’t vote for him.
-He was combative during the interview when pressed on whether he had read it.
-All you want to hear is “someone who agrees with you” to Hannity.
So not only does Voinovich cry on the Senate floor, he is ignorant of the details of the legislation before him, he has no idea whether something he voted on passed or failed, and, most importantly, he considers constituents calling him and expressing their opinion, “intimidation.”
You pompous jackass. When people are calling you, telling you that if you act like a Democrat, and you vote like a Democrat, they will not vote for you in the future, that isn’t intimidation, that is outrage from your constituents, who expect you, on the big issues, to vote like the a Republican.
On the little things, you get to vote your conscience, but on the things that define what a Republican is, you don’t get to choose. Your constituents are upset because you are not listening. You are acting like a Democrat.
You lost my vote sometime back. Today’s outrageous display of ignorance and imperial arrogance has move me from passive dislike to working actively from this day one, to your defeat in the next election.
Quite frankly Mr. Voinovich, if you are going to vote like Democrat, we might as well have the real thing in the next election. Of course, I will support a conservative opponent in the primary, but if you are nominated, I will vote for a Democrat, who in the end, will probably do less harm to the republic than you.
Arrogance and ignorance is a dangerous combination. Your behavior, Senator, is truly reason enough for Senatorial term limits.
By the way, I tried to call the Senator’s Cincinnati office at (513) 684-3265 and voicemail box was full. Imagine that, the Senator is being intimidated again. Wonder if he will cry over all this meanness?
Update: Listen to the interview at Hot Air. Upon a listening to it for a third time, I think there is a combination of dementia, ignorance, arrogance, and being a liberal Republican. I did get to leave a voicemail at his D.C. office. I’m sure this will only bolster his view of us talk radio types. Funny thing is, I seldom listen to Hannity, but was changing stations when I heard Hannity mention Voinovich was going to be a guest.
