Pledging Your Moral Stand for Immigrants Rights

Summary:

In the coming weeks and months your church may ask you to sign a pledge that you will take “a public, moral stand for immigrant’s rights.” If you oppose illegal immigration, are you ready for this faith challenge? Isn’t it possible to stand for human rights for immigrants while at the same time insisting that illegal immigration must end? Not so if your church has gone over to the left!

While the left is pulling out all the stops and mounting its biggest push to get congress to pass the Dream Act, we conservatives are overlooking a vital resource – American Christian church goers. Leftist infiltration of all Christian denominations, to some extent, is pervasive. Soon many Christians of all denominations will be asked to sign a Sanctuary pledge for immigrant rights. And on October 8th Christians of all denominations will be asked by the National Council of Churches to pray and fast to endan unnecessary, morally abhorrent, and disastrous” war in Iraq!

No matter what your religion or even if you don’t have a religion, it is vital to get the word out to those practicing Christians who have been increasingly subjected to leftist indoctrination.

Aztlan Website Celebrates Al Qaeda And Recent Oil Bombings In Mexico, from Digger’s Realm:

Stating that “Al Qaeda’s goal to collapse the US economy seems on track” on the front page of Aztlan.net, Ernesto Cienfuegos of La Voz de Aztlan brings us “Mexican insurgents cause record $80 per barrel crude oil price”. In the article (which I will not link), Cienfuegos states that:

In addition, the Strategic Forecasting, Inc. (Stratfor), through the US State Department, is now offering its services to President Felipe Calderon. Stratfor is supposedly a private intelligence agency founded in 1996 in Austin, Texas but insiders know the outfit as “The Shadow CIA”. Stratfor analysts say that the EPR has “evolved greatly”. They believe that the recent sophisticated operations by the EPR can not be the work of simple “campesinos”. Stratfor says that they believe the recent bombings were led by very experienced bomb makers. They note that the recent operations against PEMEX have evolved greatly from what is usual for the group. The range of the attacks are much more widespread and are coming much more frequent. They are also worried about the much more sophisticated and much more powerful Improvised Explosives Devices (IED’s) the EPR has been using.

This basically tells us that the EPR, or Popular Revolutionary Army, are working with a more advanced terrorist group. This group is not only teaching them exactly how to carry out attacks, but also how to make those attacks more successful and devastating. (more)

It acts as a clearinghouse for people across the nation to find companies that have pledged to hire only legal workers.Since setting up his Web site three months ago, David Marlett said more than 400 companies in 43 states have signed up for the free listing. As an added incentive, he offers to act as a middleman between participants and the government in a program that checks potential hires’ immigration status.

Known for a decade as the Basic Pilot Program and now called “E-Verify,” the program allows employers to confirm workers’ Social Security numbers with those listed by the government. This is what American workers pay union dues for. The union that represents American workers suing I.C.E. for violating the rights of the illegal aliens that are displacing them. How does this protect the workers that pay the dues? How does a union have any credibility with its membership when it actively assists in the transfer of their jobs to illegals?

If I were a union member and my union was suing the department responsible for detaining and deporting the largest threat to my employment, I believe I might start to doubt the level of the union’s commitment to me. I might begin to believe that the purpose the union is serving might be something other than looking out for its members. Who knows, I might even be inclined to vote for the candidate I think would be the best president and ignore the campaign recommendation of my union.

“They don’t splurge on themselves,” Espinosa, who emigrated from Argentina six years ago, says in Spanish.

Espinosa’s shop on Powder Springs Road in Marietta is not the only one hurting. Many businesses that cater to Hispanics are seeing a slowdown in sales. The crackdown on illegal immigrants, Espinosa says, “also hurts those of us who have papers.”

And the fallout has spread far beyond car dealers, which immediately felt the impact from a law that went into effect on July 1 requiring a Georgia driver’s license or ID card to get a car tag. It’s affecting bakeries, insurance peddlers, banks, food manufacturers, supermarkets, restaurants and other businesses.

Another Example of why the U.S. Needs to Redefine Citizenship

The following story exemplifies why the U.S. needs to redefine citizenship. Citizenship should not simply be granted to anyone who is simply born on American soil.

Right now, due to the interpretation of the 14th amendment, based on this clause, All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside”, means that children of illegal aliens born in the U.S. are automatically American citizens.

It is doubtful, that this post-civil war civil rights amendment, meant to aid the newly freed slaves was meant to give citizenship to every person born on American soil. Whether excluding children of illegal aliens or even foreign tourists can be accomplished by simple legislation or if it would require a constitution amendment is of course a question left to constitutional scholars.

The only thing certain is that it is simply insane to grant citizenship to children born to parents who are in the U.S. illegally.

An illegal immigrant allowed to stay in the U.S., apparently because of a routine delay in paperwork, while her four children face deportation could now be forced to go back to Mexico, a government lawyer told an immigration court Wednesday.

 

The case against 32-year-old Rocio Godinez’s children was postponed at a status hearing so immigration officials can decided whether to include her in the proceedings.

 

Immigration and Customs Enforcement will decide whether to order Godinez to immigration court, said agency lawyer Carmen Leal. The proceedings against her children, ages 10 to 18, have been going on for the past two years.

 

“They’re going after Rocio now,” said family attorney Jonathan Ryan. He said he believes the government decided to move on Godinez after media reports on the case.

 

“We knew this was a chance we were taking with going public,” Ryan said.

 

ICE said it would have no comment Wednesday.

 

The family’s next hearing will take place in early December, when they will again make the more than three-hour trip from their home in San Angelo to San Antonio.

 

Godinez and her four children came to the U.S. in the late 1990s on tourist visas, which later expired.

 

In 2001, Godinez’s father, a legal U.S. resident, filed a petition for them to stay in the country. But the paperwork is years away from being processed because excessive demand for a limited number of visas has created a federal backlog.

 

In May 2005, Godinez was pulled over for speeding and was referred to Border Patrol. Deportation proceedings for her children began after that.

 

Godinez, who also has a 7-year-old American-born child, said the situation puts her in a difficult situation because her family may be torn between two countries. Read more here.

More Proof that Open Borders Invites Criminals into Our Midst

If you ever need an argument against open borders and illegal immigration, simply start pointing out all of the criminals who enter our national illegally.

ICE recently issued a press release in which they noted that they had deported 839 illegal aliens. Of those 839 illegal aliens, 170 were criminals. Nice ratio, wouldn’t you say?

MIAMI– A 35-year-old national of El Salvador wanted by Interpol for homicide was among the 839 illegal aliens deported in August from Florida by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportation officers.

 

Armando Quijada was escorted back to El Salvador on Aug. 14 and turned over to Salvadoran authorities without incident.

 

Also wanted by Interpol and deported were Orlando Galdamez-Salguero and Ryszard Kowalski. Galdamez-Salguero, 44, was escorted to his native country of Mexico and turned over to Mexican authorities. He too was wanted for homicide. Kowalski, 40, of Poland was wanted by his government for dealing in stolen property.

 

All of those deported were ordered removed by a federal immigration judge after being found ineligible for any form of immigration relief.

 

“Those who think that they can commit crimes in their home countries and hide in the United States are mistaken,” said Michael Rozos, field office director for the Office of Detention and Removal in Florida. “The law enforcement community is united globally to ensure that those who have broken the law are brought to justice.”

ID cards for illegals… the new San Francisco Treat!

“San Francisco Supervisor Tom Ammiano is drafting legislation to create a city identification card for immigrants unable to get traditional ID cards, a move likely to anger advocates of tougher immigration enforcement.”

Later in the article we find:

“Ammiano said the impetus for the city cards came from the immigrant community, which asked for his help. Illegal immigrants who are victims or witnesses of crime often do not report the incident because they have no identification and fear deportation. Identification also is needed for many services, such as city health care.

San Francisco already has a sanctuary policy for immigrants, which means no city agency, including the police, will assist the federal government to deport people. So-called sanctuary cities have become a major issue among Republican presidential candidates.”

Apparently San Fransicko officials believe the transgendered people have trouble with identification so they too would benefit from these cards. I am not sure where the difficulty for these people stems from… it isn’t as if driver’s license applications ask what the applicant chooses to wear. I suggest that this is to give the impression that these cards are not just about illegal aliens.

I suggest San Fran would be a great first step in withdrawing federal funds from sanctuary cities. That is unless their plan is to entice illegals to come and get the cards so they can fall into the trap and subsequent deportation that might be waiting for them. Wouldn’t it be great if these cities cared for the law and expected the people within its city limits to be there legally?

In events that are largely being ignored by the national media, Kansas City representatives of the racist group the National Council of La Raza (The Race for our English speaking friends) have been threatening to boycott Kansas City and pull their national convention from the city if the current mayor, Mark Funkhouser, does not remove 73 year old Francis Semler from the Kansas City Parks Board. Why the outrage over an elderly female member of a parks board? She happens to be a member of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corp, a neo-neighborhood watch group that seeks to end illegal immigration by watching our southern and northern borders and reporting illegal immigration to the border patrol.

Mayor Funkhouser has vowed to stand behind Ms Semler as long as her personal beliefs on immigration policy do not affect her service to the parks board.

Growing frustrated with the Mayor’s refusal to bend to their blackmail La Raza spokesperson and organizer of Sons and Daughters of Immigrants of Greater Kansas City, Jessica Ayala joined 5 other pro-illegal immigration activists and appeared on the doorstep of 73 year old Ms Semler on the morning of September 5th. Startled by the pounding on her door and seeing the large group outside, she did what any elderly woman would do, she called police.

When questioned, the group claimed they were only there to hand deliver a note demanding she resign from her position on the parks board. Police have stated they will increase patrols to the neighborhood.

Their note follows:

Dear Mrs. Semler,

We are writing on behalf of the congregations, community organizations and concerned citizens listed below to respectfully ask you to immediately resign your position as member of the Kansas City Missouri Parks and Recreation Board. As a member of the Minutemen it is clear that you do not embrace or welcome the cultural diversity of all Kansas City residents. The KC metropolitan area should be allowed the opportunity to heal from the difficulties this appointment has caused and your resignation permits this healing process to begin.

Please contact us by August 31st to let us know that you have the best interests of all metropolitan area citizens in mind and that you will immediately resign from the parks board.

Revoke Citizenship of Convicted Terrorists?

What a concept, revoking the citizenship of convicted terrorists?  What’s the downside?  Canada is thinking along these lines, what about doing this in the United States?

Jamal Akkal, a naturalized Canadian citizen of Palestinian origin has been released from an Israeli prison, where he served a four-year sentence after pleading guilty to charges of terrorism. This in itself isn’t particularly noteworthy. What is noteworthy though is that Akkal has now returned to Windsor where he plans to take up residence.

According to Israeli intelligence sources, Akkal took up weapons training in 2003 in anticipation of returning to Canada to take action against Jews and visiting Israeli diplomats.

While in opposition, Conservative public safety critic Peter McKay urged the Liberal government of Paul Martin to revoke the citizenship of Fateh Kamel, an Algeria-born Canadian citizen who served time in a French prison, following his conviction of terrorism. Given that the circumstances of Mr. Akkal’s case are similar to that of Mr. Kamel, should the Conservative government take action to revoke Akkal’s citizenship? After all, what’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.  [snip]

Be that as it may, terrorism is a particularly heinous crime and those convicted of participating or conspiring to participate in terrorist acts should have their citizenship yanked at warp speed. After all, the government of Canada has no problem revoking the citizenship of old German or Ukrainian men who are accused of committing war crimes during World War II, sometimes on the flimsiest evidence.  (Canada Free Press)

Mexican President Felipe Calderon’s comments proved a fuel source rich enough to rekindle the flame of outrage in me.  Evidently, proponents of illegal immigration are convinced this is a fight they can win.  They seem determined to prod the sleeping dog until it gets up and tears their feral cat to pieces once and for all.

Calderon’s comment “Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico!” by itself is no more offensive than “You can take the boy out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the boy!”.  When you add his statement, “Mexico does not end at its borders!” the meaning of his first statement becomes ominous.  Is he suggesting Mexicans are a fifth column here in the US waiting to be activated by Mexico City?  Is he saying Mexico’s official position is to make her northern borders irrelevant and that he intends to behave as if they do not exist?  If he is concerned he is being misunderstood, he is free to issue clarifying statements.  Absent corrections, he is either acknowledging we understand him perfectly or he does not care how we take his words.  Either option is unacceptable (More)

The insensitivity toward those who support the U.S. economy and society has only served as an impetus to reinforce the battle … for their rights.

It is interesting Calderon classifies US actions as “unilateral” since actions necessary for a bi-lateral participation would need to come from Mexico! It is difficult to dismiss the conclusion Mexico has no intention of working with the US to address our concerns with the assault on our sovereignty.

Additionally, the alleged mistreatment of “Mexican undocumented workers” would cease this afternoon if said workers would simply return to Mexico. No Mexicans are being held here against their will. Where is the responsibility of illegal aliens for their plight being factored into the equation? Nowhere as far as I can tell.

The appeal to “the battle … for [the] rights” of illegal aliens is, perhaps the speech’s most inflammatory statement. Given the comment is from Mexico’s annual State of the Nation address, it is impossible to take it as anything other than representative of Mexican policy and intent. They are going to prosecute the war focusing on the “rights” of their people to do what they want and ignore the “right” of my nation to enforce her laws. This, too, is unacceptable.

I find Calderon’s statements fascinating in light of other information he presents. Mexico has produced 618,000 jobs since January and is continuing to fight the drug lords who, practically speaking, rule portions of the country. If Calderon intended to speak to nationalistic pride and activism in the hearts of his countrymen, where was the call to Mexicans living abroad to return and participate in building and freeing their own country? If he believes the presence of Mexican workers in the US serves to “support the US economy and society” why does he not desire those supports from his countrymen for their own country and society?

It seems difficult to escape the conclusion that Calderon and Mexico are not interested in any other solution to the problem of illegal immigration other than permitting unfettered access to the US by any Mexican with the desire and ability to get here. So says Mexican President Calderon. That some here are inclined to object doesn’t seem to matter much. And them’s fightin’ words.

Thinking solutions other than unilateral ones take the opinions of all parties involved into account …

Mexico Does Not End at its Border

President Felipe Calderon, president of a corrupt, third world, poverty ridden Mexico (and yes, I meant to say corrupt, third world, poverty ridden) gave a speech on Sunday that should be reprinted in every paper across the United States. America has more than a problem of illegal immigration on its hands, it has an invasion to deal with that is supported by Mexico City.

If this doesn’t make your red American blood boil, then you are truly a liberal, uncaring about the future of our republic. Calderon had this to say:

“Mexico does not end at its border.

Yes it does, that is why we are building a fence. Or does Mexico have territorial ambitions in the southwest?

“We strongly protest the unilateral measures taken by the U.S. Congress and government that have only persecuted and exacerbated the mistreatment of Mexican undocumented workers.”

Last time I checked, the U.S. was a sovereign nation. Unlike your third world nation, whose laws stem from an authoritarian Spanish code, the U.S. has something called the rule of law. Your people have broken our laws. Applying our laws uniformly to your citizens, who have entered our nation illegally is neither persecution or mistreatment. By the way, is there any apology forthcoming for the fact that your citizens fill our jails and burden our social safety net?

Please don’t meddle in our internal affairs. Your citizens, here illegally, actually undermine our laws and our economy. Our corporations break our laws because your citizens exchange their labor for third world wages. Your citizens, here illegally, undermine our culture by setting up separate enclaves that refuse to assimlate. Your citizens, here illegally, undermine our society by overwhelming our schools and hospitals. Your citizens, here illegally, commit a large percentage of our nation’s crimes and are filling are jails at an increasing rate.

“Where there is a Mexican, there is a Mexico.”

I can only interpret that statement one way. The migration of your citizens into the U.S. is a purposeful undertaking meant to reestablish Mexican sovereignty in the American Southwest.

To me, this speech by Calderon, is nothing more than declaration that Mexico is challenging American sovereignty in the border region. I have never been a “conspiracy theory” type person and I am not going off the deep end here. But if you read his speech, Calderon is challenging our sovereignty over our own territory.

After reading highlights from his speech, it is imperative that the United States reestablish control over the border. The border must be defined. It must be defended. Illegal aliens from Mexico must no longer find employment in the United States and as many illegal aliens as possible must be urged to return back home to Mexico. Otherwise, someday, we might wake up to actually find out that Mexico really doesn’t end at its borders.

Finally, shouldn’t the President, or at least the Secretary of State give a formal response to this Mexican assault on our national sovereignty? And if there is no response, shouldn’t the American people demand that our leaders make such a response? Maybe it is time to contact our leaders again and ask them if they agree that “Mexico doesn’t stop at its borders.” Click on the image for contact numbers.Secure.jpg

This speech really got underneath my skin. So, please, pass on what Calderon said. Maybe it will actually make some Americans mad. Mad enough to do something about it.

Federal Judge Blocks Use of Social Numbers to Weed Out Illegal Aliens

Hopefully today’s ruling by liberal judge Maxine Chesney will be overturned rather quickly. And if there is any doubt about this judge’s political leanings, she was appointed by the slickster himself in 1995.

A federal judge in San Francisco on Friday temporarily blocked the U.S. government from starting its planned crackdown against employers who hired undocumented immigrant workers.

U.S. District Judge Maxine M. Chesney issued a temporary restraining order preventing the Social Security Administration from sending so-called no-match letters to companies whose employees’ names do not match the Social Security numbers they used when they applied for their jobs.

It also prohibits the Department of Homeland Security from fining companies that don’t act on those letters.

“This is a critical and important first step,” said Lucas Guttentag, director of the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project and one of the lawyers for the plaintiffs. “It means that workers will not be threatened as a result of an improper rule or inaccurate notices that were about to be sent out.”

But Homeland Security spokeswoman Laura Keehner said she believed the government strategy would ultimately be implemented .

“We are disappointed by the delay and expect to prevail once the court has the benefit of full briefings and arguments,” she said.

The letters were scheduled to be sent Tuesday to about 140,000 employers with at least 10 workers whose names and Social Security numbers don’t match. Under the Homeland Security rule, the affected companies would have to resolve any discrepancies within 90 days or face sanctions.

The judge’s ruling came two days after a coalition of labor and immigrant rights groups sued Social Security and the Department of Homeland Security.

In its lawsuit, the coalition argued that the new rule would lead to discrimination against documented and U.S. citizen workers and result in unfair firings.

The coalition, which included the AFL-CIO and the American Civil Liberties Union, also argued in the suit that the Social Security database was full of errors. Read the rest of the story.

SAN FRANCISCO — The Bush administration can go ahead with a pilot program to allow as many as 100 Mexican trucking companies to freely haul their cargo anywhere within the U.S. for the next year, a federal appeals court ruled Friday.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals denied a request made by the Teamsters union, the Sierra Club and the nonprofit Public Citizen to halt the program.

The appeals court ruled the groups have not satisfied the legal requirements to immediately stop what the government is calling a “demonstration project,” but can continue to argue their case.

The trucking program is scheduled to begin Thursday.

Canadian trucks are one thing, but allowing 100 Mexican trucking companies free access to America’s highways seems like a really bad idea. Potential problems could include:

-How can our government that can’t process a a passport for its own citizens going to ensure illegal aliens, weapons, and drugs aren’t on these trucks?

-Language barrier

-If a Mexican trucker causes an accident, who pays for it?

-Tickets could easily go unpaid

-What if a trucker doesn’t return to Mexico?

-How can any thinking human being be expected to believe that the safety standards and training will be adhered to?

Why does El Presidente Bush think truck driving s a job Americans won’t do? I suppose Chertoff is going to ask for more tools if his to be expected to keep track of these trucks. I suppose it is completely out of the question that there might be some hidden areas on these trucks!

The government we elected is not taking our security seriously! We should all use our heads the next time we vote. We should all think about what the candidates stand for. We should NOT cast our votes based on who the media and the elites tell us can win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe we should vote for Duncan Hunter, but I implore you all to know who you are voting for!

My guess is that the Reuter reporter’s intention in her article, Deportees use “revolving door” to return to U.S., is to positively portray the pluckiness and determination of the deported illegals who return back to the United States. Of course, I could be wrong. But the one thing that should be taken away from this article is that deportation is nearly meaningless if we don’t guard our borders.

When a heavy knock came on the door of her Phoenix home, Mari knew that the immigration police had finally caught up with her. Arrested and held for a month in a U.S. jail, she was sent back to Guatemala on a prison flight.

But four weeks later, after raising a $5,000 smuggling fee, she was back with her family in Arizona.

As U.S. authorities step up deportations of illegal immigrants, a growing number of them, like Mari, are simply turning round and heading back stateside to rejoin families and resume their lives.

“Guatemala is no longer my home. All my roots are here in the country I have lived in since I was 15 years old … I felt I had no option but to try to come back,” said Mari, which is not her real name.

The little reported phenomenon of the repeat lawbreakers was highlighted by the high-profile case of Elvira Arellano, the Mexican illegal immigrant deported earlier this month for slipping back into the United States despite a previous removal in 1997.

“I know a lot of people in the same position as Elvira … their whole life is here,” said Mari’s husband, Samuel, who is also an undocumented immigrant.

“If they throw them out of the country, sooner or later they will be back.” Read more….

Did you hear about the deaf mute illegal alien? No, this is no joke. A deaf mute illegal alien by the name of Oswaldo Martinez of El Salvador who is charged with raping and killing 16 year old Brittany Binger was found incompetent due to his inability to communicate. So, what did the courts do? Why they sent him to a sign language hospital for the last TWO YEARS!!

On Monday, Circuit Judge Samuel Powell ordered Martinez transferred to Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail so that he can have more contact with his attorneys, Timothy Clancy and Edward Webb. Powell also appointed a sign-language interpreter to work with Martinez and his attorneys.“Western State was tasked with teaching him sign language — they have done that,” Williamsburg-James City County Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Nate Green said. “They have given him communication skills. Anybody that knows sign language can communicate with Mr. Martinez.”

Martinez is charged with rape, murder, sodomy and robbery in connection with Binger’s death. Investigators believe the teen was jumped from behind near the entrance to a mobile home park on Jan. 2, 2005, then raped and killed.

Binger’s body was found near an abandoned shed where Martinez had lived. Martinez’ DNA was found under the teenager’s fingernails, police have said.

If convicted, Martinez could face the death penalty.

Now, don’t you feel better knowing this scumbag was able to suck up 2 years worth of sign language training just to go to trial so we can kill him? I wonder how many American citizens were denied this service so this illegal alien rapist murderer could learn sign language?
