US Guns – Just doing the job Mexican guns can’t do

31 10 2007

Cross Posted from Bear Creek Ledger

This is such a retarded report on Mexican drug cartels smuggling
drugs into the US. The drug cartels have American manufactured guns so
of course CBS News is blaming the guns,
not the drug smugglers! Nor are they lamenting the porousness of US
borders. This biased, pathetic excuse for a reporter (ohhhh, he’s not
really a reporter, Keach Hagey is a paid “professional” blogger for
CBS) then transforms the story into a BDS rant on Darfur. Unbelievable!

They get into Mexico stuffed into the baggy pant legs or
hidden in the trunks of “ants,” or gunrunners — often aided by corrupt
customs officials. The weapons are often bought legally at gun shows in
Arizona and other border states where loopholes allow criminals to
stock up without background checks.

Guns are now flooding into the country in part because of the cartel
war, and in part because of the ease of buying high-powered weapons
since the U.S. assault weapons ban was not renewed in 2004, according
to an ATF official.

The American taxpayer must now mop up the bloody results of the
ban’s demise: President Bush has promised $500 million in U.S. aid to
help Mexico battle drug cartels, who are formidable precisely because
of their steady supply of AK-47s and grenade launchers that were made
In the U.S.A.

About that $500M in aid? Truly this is a test in logic for the
administration, stay with me here. President Bush wants to give the
Mexican military $500,000 to aid in fighting the Mexican drug cartels.
The problem with this logic is the Mexican military IS aiding and
assisting the Mexican drug cartels. So, the $500M in aid is just going
to be used against the US. Yeah, that all makes sense.

The Bird Feeder Analogy

31 10 2007

This was emailed to me. I am passing it along to you.

The Bird Feeder Analogy

I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with birdseed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it was, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.

But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop! It was everywhere, on the patio tile, the chairs, the table…everywhere!

Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. The other birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.

After a while, I couldn’t even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.

Soon, the back yard was like it used to be…quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.

Now let’s see…..

Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.

Then the illegals came by the tens and hundreds of thousands, millions. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child’s 2nd grade class is behind other schools because half the class doesn’t speak English. Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to ‘press one’ to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than ‘Old Glory’ are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties. When asked why they breed like cockroaches, the reply is that it is a cultural thing.

Just my opinion but, maybe its time for the government to take down the bird feeder. If you agree, pass it on; if not, continue cleaning up the poop!

note: Certain politicians want to achieve parity in living standards of others by lowering us to third world status. It is NOT a party thang! Panderers come in all political flavors, such as Teddy Kennedy, Carl Levin, B. Hussein Obama, Hillary Clinton, Bill Frist, Sam Brownback, John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, Ron Paul, etc.

Hunter: I will build the fence

‘Crime rate will drop in every state of the union upon completion’

U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter calls for construction of a border fence, suggesting that crime will drop across the country on its completion.

The fastest way to cut crime in the U.S. is to build a border fence with Mexico, according to U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., a candidate for the GOP nomination for president.

Hunter told WND in an exclusive question-and-answer session that after a border fence he helped commission was finished near San Diego, crime in that city dropped by half.

He was responding to a WND question about his perspective on the status of illegal aliens in U.S. and what should the nation should do.

“I get to answer the last part of that by talking about that I have committed that I will build the border fence that I wrote into law in six months. Last Oct. 26, the president signed my bill, the bill that I wrote that mandates 854 miles of San Diego-style border fence. That’s the fence I built in San Diego, Calif. Double layer fence with a Border Patrol road in between,” he said.

“The extension of that fence for 854 miles across the smuggling corridors of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and California will be a priority, and that, incidentally, will be one of my first initiatives as president,” said Hunter. “That, I think, will have a salutary effect on illegal immigration problem, as well as the crime problem in this country.

“When we built that border fence the crime rate in the city of San Diego dropped by 50 percent. I think the crime rate will drop in every state of the union upon completion of the border fence,” he said.

Hunter served in the 173rd Airborne and 75th Army Rangers in Vietnam and then attended what now is Thomas Jefferson School of Law. He first was elected to Congress in 1980, and after arriving in Washington took on the burden of working on military, border security and economic issues.

Then Sept. 11, 2001, happened. He saw that border security was indeed a national issue, and he responded “by leading efforts in Congress to seal a porous border susceptible to illegal aliens, drug trafficking and terrorism,” his website said. So far in San Diego County, 59 miles of border fence and infrastructure have been built.

He also believes it is important for the U.S Border Patrol to know what is being brought into the U.S., because of the threat of terrorism.

“What I think we’re going to have to have in this long war against terrorism is the ability to pre-empt the development of weapons of mass destruction, whether it’s the continuing progress that the Iranians are making with respect to refinement of weapons grade material that one day could result in a nuclear device or other nations moving toward the development of weapons that could give terrorists enormous leverage against Americans and their interests,” he told WND.

“That means we’re going to have to have a strong intelligence capability with an emphasis on human intelligence. We’re going to need a reactive capability manifested in our line forces and our special operations forces and also have the ability to make deep strikes and long distance strikes in very remote parts of the world. Those are some of the things I think the United States will have to acquire during this period that I call terrorists with technology.”

Another issue on his radar is the economy.

He told WND in his first 100 days he would be communicating with the government of communist China and informing them that they no longer would be allowed to “cheat” on trade.

He said the Asian nation has manipulated its own currency to attract manufacturing that used to generate millions of jobs in the U.S.

“At some point that’s going to affect the national security capability of this country as well as, obviously, the long-term economic health of the United States,” he said.

Hunter also said he supports a constitutional amendment limiting marriage to one man and one woman and would like to see a judiciary overturn Roe v. Wade.

“But if it doesn’t, I would push strongly for the legislative initiative that I’ve carried for years, which is the life- begins-at-conception bill, which would protect unborn children within the boundaries of Roe v. Wade,” he said.

1,300 Reasons to Secure Our Nation’s Borders

31 10 2007

Cross posted from Virtuous Republic

In an October 3rd press release, ICE announced that they had arrested over 1,300 criminal aliens during a two week operation. Take note of some of their offenses. These aren’t people who came to the U.S. to work hard. They came here to pursue their criminal carreers.

To those, on both the left and the right, who still support open borders and amnesty, I have three questions for you. First, do you leave the front door to your house unlocked? And second, would you invite sexual predators and drug dealers into your house to have dinner with your wife and children? Finally, would you invite a complete stranger into your house?

Of course the answer is no. Then why do you oppose securing our borders? Why do you want to give amnesty to people who we know nothing about?

Now please read the press release from ICE:

Largest-ever ICE operation targeting criminal aliens and illegal alien fugitives nets more than 1,300 arrests in Los Angeles area

LOS ANGELES – More than 1,300 criminal aliens, immigration fugitives, and immigration violators have been removed from the United States or are facing deportation today following the largest special enforcement action ever carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Fugitive Operations Teams anywhere in the nation.

During the two-week operation in the Los Angeles area, which concluded yesterday, ICE officers located and arrested 530 immigration violators who were at large in five Southland counties – Los Angeles (187), Orange (62), Riverside/San Bernardino (245), and Ventura (36). Of those arrested out in the community, a total of 258 were immigration fugitives, aliens who have ignored final orders of deportation or who returned to the United States illegally after being removed. More than half of the aliens located in the community had criminal histories in addition to being in the country illegally.

As part of the enforcement effort, ICE officers also expanded their search for criminal aliens incarcerated in area jails, taking custody of 797 previously unidentified deportable foreign nationals who were scheduled for release from the county jails in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties.

The results of the special operation were announced at a news conference here today by ICE Assistant Secretary Julie L. Myers. Assistant Secretary Myers pointed out that of the more than 61,000 illegal aliens arrested by ICE Fugitive Operations Teams since the first teams were created in 2003, roughly 17,331 had criminal convictions.

“ICE’s Fugitive Operations Teams make a priority of cases involving those who have ignored orders to leave our country and those who pose a threat to our communities,” Assistant Secretary Myers said. “The 1,300 taken into custody by ICE in the past two weeks include numerous suspected street gang members, as well as aliens convicted of sex offenses, assaults and kidnapping. Our success is two-fold – we have made our communities safer and protected the integrity of our nation’s immigration system.”

Among those arrested was Juan Cervantes-Gonzalez, 30, of Mexico. Cervantes, who was taken into custody without incident at his San Bernardino home September 21, is a suspected street gang member with prior convictions for transporting methamphetamine, burglary, and auto theft.

Also taken into custody during the operation was Oscar Antonio Argueta-Viera, 44, a Salvadoran national whose criminal history includes two convictions for voluntary manslaughter as well as assault with a firearm. Argueta, who was previously deported in 2003, is among the more than 45 criminal aliens arrested during the operation who are being prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for re-entry after deportation, a felony that carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

In January 2007, the ICE office of detention and removal in Los Angeles established a violent criminal alien section specifically to target these types of cases for arrest and prosecution.  “For a decade and a half, the U.S. Attorney’s Office has devoted considerable resources to prosecute criminal aliens who return to this country, which has made the crime of illegal re-entry after deportation the most prosecuted offense by this office,” said United States Attorney George S. Cardona. “Working with law enforcement agencies such as ICE, we hope to send a message to criminal aliens who are deported – returning to the United States may very well lead straight to a federal prison cell.”

The Fugitive Operations Program was established in 2003 to eliminate the nation’s backlog of immigration fugitives and ensure that deportation orders handed down by immigration judges are enforced. Earlier this year, the nation’s fugitive alien population showed its first-ever decline. Estimates now place the number of immigration fugitives in the United States at slightly under 597,000, a decrease of more than 35,000 since October 2006.

Much of the credit for those results can be attributed to the rapid expansion of the program. Today, ICE has 75 Fugitive Operations Teams deployed across the country, including 23 added within the last year. There are now five fugitive operations teams permanently assigned to the greater Los Angeles area, more than any major city in the nation.

The majority of the aliens taken into custody this week in the Los Angeles area are Mexican nationals, but the group included immigration violators from 30 countries, such as Armenia, India, Indonesia, Jordan, and Peru. Since many of these individuals have already been through immigration proceedings, they are subject to immediate removal from the country. Of the aliens arrested during the past two weeks, more than 600 have already been returned to their native countries.

ICE’s Fugitive Operations Program is an integral part of the comprehensive multi-year plan launched by the Department of Homeland Security to secure America’s borders and reduce illegal migration. That strategy seeks to gain operational control of both the northern and southern borders, while re-engineering the detention and removal system to ensure that illegal aliens are removed from the country quickly and efficiently. The plan also involves strong interior enforcement efforts, including enhanced worksite enforcement and intensified efforts to track down and remove illegal aliens inside the United States.

My apologies for the lack of contact. I moved this summer to my remote property and then shortly after getting my satellite internet up, it broke down. I was off line for the last two months and it seems my number one disappeared and the blog went dead. I am back and the content will start flowing again.

That said he also had the mailing list and I have no way of retrieving it. So if you were on the mailing list, or you would like to be added to the private email mailing list, send an email to brianbonner90-at-gmail-dot-com.

Free Basic Immigration Enforcement Training

26 10 2007

We must understand the daunting task of dealing with illegal immigration. However, turning a blind eye to the problem, providing amnesty, Accepting Consular Id cards, ant not sealing our borders is not the answer. Sanctuary cities are certainly not thew answer and is illegal. Of course El Presidente Bush will not enforce the law. Certainly getting local law enforcement rained is part of the solution. So, I present this solution…

Rather than spending valuable time and training funds on traditional classroom training, officers can now use Basic Immigration Enforcement Training (BIET) for their immigration training. BIET consists of Web-based courses, allowing officers to take classes when and wherever is most convenient for them.

BIET is a highly interactive, self-paced multimedia training program that addresses the immigration knowledge requirements of local, state, and tribal law enforcement officers. BIET addresses a wide range of topics including:

* False identification
* Identifying valid identification documents
* Consular notification
* Diplomatic immunity
* Nonimmigrant visas
* Immigrant and nonimmigrant status
* Law Enforcement Support Center resources

BIET was developed with funding received from the Department of Justice (COPS). The pilot program is available for free to all departments that meet the participation criteria. The pilot program is only open to 500 officers, so contact us today to gain access to BIET’s innovative training.

Now, go call your local law enforcement agency and inform them of this FREE easy to use program. They can sign up here.
