Isolated measles outbreak has Indiana officials on alert

23 06 2011

FYI, just in case you live in Indiana, have relatives there, or are planning to visit there.

From Reuters.com

State Health Commissioner Dr. Gregory Larkin said his department had dispatched workers to seven nearby counties in northern Indiana to identify any additional cases of the highly contagious disease and to prevent its spread.

The workers have also been given additional doses of the measles vaccine. Individuals who have been exposed to an infected person can obtain the vaccine at no cost, according to a statement released by Larkin’s office.

The article does not go into why there have been these outbreaks. Can you say Illegal Aliens from across the globe and third world hell holes? Being an RN I know that this disease can be more serious for adults than children. Especially pregnant women and women of child bearing age. That is why we wiped it out. And I know there is a movement to not have children vaccinated and I know the pros and cons of that movement, but that will be for a different article. When I was growing up, our parents would just let us get all of these childhood diseases so we would build up our own immunity.

We. Are. Finished. With. DC.

6 06 2011

Our hopes and prayers are with this brave band of Americans. Brian and I look forward to talking to Snooper on our radio show; The Uncooperative Radio Show this week.

From snooperreport.com

Update on Mon, June 6, 2011 at 7:11 by Registered CommenterMark “Snooper” Harvey

I am about to enter into a Greasy Spoon in Someplace USA where I will strike up the conversations that I have been talking about to many, many people. Many have said that they will follow me and some said that they will ride with me. This isn’t what this trek is all about. I am Callin’ All the Clans Together and that is all.

My small group is not interested in starting a war with anyone except the marxist-moonbats that do exist. The marxist-moonbats have thrown the first punch and all we are doing is finishing the fight that they started. period.

I started this trek by using the following: Sick and tired – marching towards the Constitution of the United States. This was followed by a meeting with The Men of Laredo. This was followed by this very article that I am updating right now.

We are not here to kill anyone.

We are not here to wound anyone.

We are not here to make anyone happy, either.

We will defend ourselves against the marxist-moonbats should they come and see at least myself because I have no idea what the other 42 are doing. Three of the 42 are bloggers and they just might be writing on this now and you will have to see who they are because I’ll not tell you.

Some are saying that I am a retired undercover and armed CIA man…and I am not. I am armed with the United States Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. I have a copy of Madison’s Notes. I have access to Vattel’s Law of Nations. This is what I am teaching. This is what I am preaching. Period.

So, onwards and upwards and I will update as I feel I must.

G’day!

PS: I ran out of the 100 copies of the USC so I will have to stop someplace and get some more copies coming and this is what I need the donations for as well as gasoline and food…I am sleeping in no hotels or motels…I have been sleeping in my truck.

Pentagon Fingered as a Source of Narco-Firepower in Mexico

6 03 2011

This will be an ongoing story that we will be following. Folks, no one is talking about this, no one. Thank God for the Internet. Pay attention people, this is important.
From narcosphere.narconews,com

Another series of leaked State Department cables made public this week by WikiLeaks lend credence to investigative reports on gun trafficking and the drug war published by Narco News as far back as 2009.

The big battles in the drug war in Mexico are “not being fought with Saturday night specials, hobby rifles and hunting shotguns,” Narco News reported in March 2009, against the grain, at a time when the mainstream media was pushing a narrative that assigned the blame for the rising tide of weapons flowing into Mexico to U.S. gun stores and gun shows.

Rather, we reported at the time, “the drug trafficking organizations are now in possession of high-powered munitions in vast quantities that can’t be explained by the gun-show loophole.”

Those weapons, found in stashes seized by Mexican law enforcers and military over the past several years, include U.S.-military issued rifles, machine guns, grenade launchers and explosives.

The State Department cables released recently by WikiLeaks support Narco News’ reporting and also confirm that our government is very aware of the fact that U.S military munitions are finding their way into Mexico, and into the hands of narco-trafficking organizations, via a multi-billion dollar stream of private-sector and Pentagon arms exports.

Please, people, read the entire article. You have got to be Uncooperative readers, Listeners and Citizens, and that entails finding information and educating yourselves. Good Journey!!

Haslam plans broad-based immigration legislation

18 02 2011

From the times free press

NASHVILLE — Gov. Bill Haslam said Wednesday he is working with Republican legislative leaders to develop a broad-based bill dealing with illegal immigration.

One piece would be an Arizona-style law allowing state and local police to enforce federal immigration laws.

Another would require the written portion of driver’s license exams be given in English unless the person is in the U.S. legally through a work or student visa.

The law would require businesses to use the federal E-Verify program in hiring and make the state ensure illegal immigrants cannot access a number of state services.

Haslam spoke to reporters after an address to state business leaders. He cautioned he doesn’t want Tennessee to set too strident a tone in its approach.

This state has every right to say who can and cannot come into their state legally or illegally. I hope this catches on like wildfire, state by state. Screw the federal government. There is no business of the state, that the States can’t do better than the Federal government. We need to get rid of the feds and take our States back, period. Oh, and bye the bye, Governors have more power than the President of the United States.

11 Tucson teachers sue Arizona over new ‘anti-Hispanic’ schools law

19 10 2010

I am sooo glad that our country is starting to wake up and “smell, the minority tyranny”. I do not want my tax payer dollars to go to any “ETHNIC” studies. Teach the kids the basics so we can again have “achievers” and not “socially correct” morons. Keep up the good fight people. God is on our side. Oh, no, I said the “G” word.

From CNN U.S.;

Eleven Tucson, Arizona, educators sued the state board of education and superintendent this week for what the teachers consider an “anti-Hispanic” ban looming on Mexican-American studies.

The suit comes in a state already roiled by a controversial immigration law that is being challenged in court.

On Tuesday, state Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne defended the new law, which will go into effect December 31. The law authorizes the superintendent to stop any ethnic studies classes that “promote the overthrow of the United States government … promote resentment toward a race or class of people … (or) advocate ethnic solidarity instead of treatment of pupils as individuals.”

Horne said he would seek the first-ever ban in Tucson for its “raza studies” program, now called Mexican-American studies. Raza means “the race” in Spanish.

If anyone wants to take these dumbass courses on their own, fine, but our children should not be forced, as prisoners of the public school system to do so. Parents please protest, it’s up to you.

AARP’S Fall from Grace

10 09 2010

This was sent to Brian as an e-mail from the Brooks Report.

This letter was sent to Mr. Rand who is the Executive Director of AARP.

Dear Mr. Rand,

Recently you sent us a letter encouraging us to renew our lapsed membership in AARP by the requested date. I know it is not what you were looking for, but this is the most honest response I can give you. Our gap in coverage is merely a microscopic symptom of the real problem, a deepening lack of faith.

While we have proudly maintained our membership for several years and have long admired the AARP goals and principles, regrettably, we can no longer endorse it’s abdication of our values. Your letter specifically stated that we can count on AARP to speak up for our rights, yet the voice we hear is not ours. Your offer of being kept up to date on important issues through DIVIDED WE FAIL presents neither an impartial view nor the one we have come to embrace. We do believe that when two parties agree all the time on everything presented to them, one is probably not necessary. But, when the opinions and long term goals are diametrically opposed, the divorce is imminent. This is the philosophy which spawned our 200 years of government.

Once upon a time, we looked forward to being part of the senior demographic. We also looked to AARP to provide certain benefits and give our voice a power we could not possibly hope to achieve on our own. AARP gave us a sense of belonging which we no longer enjoy. The Socialist politics practiced by the Obama administration and empowered by AARP serves only to raise the blood pressure my medical insurance strives to contain. Clearly a conflict of interest there!

We do not understand the AARP posture, feel greatly betrayed by the guiding forces that we expected to map out our senior years and leave your ranks with a great sense of regret. We mitigate that disappointment with the relief of knowing that we are not contributing to the problem anymore by renewing our membership. There are numerous other organizations which offer discounts without threatening our way of life or offending our sensibilities.

This Presidential Administration scares the living daylights out of us. Not just for ourselves, but for our proud and bloodstained heritage. But even more importantly for our children and grandchildren. Washington has rendered Soylent Green a prophetic cautionary tale rather than a nonfiction scare tactic. I have never in my life endorsed any militant or radical groups, yet now I find myself listening to them. I don’t have to agree with them to appreciate the fear which birthed their existence. Their borderline insanity presents little more than a balance to the voice of the Socialist mindset in power. Perhaps I became American by a great stroke of luck in some cosmic uterine lottery, but in my adulthood I CHOOSE to embrace it and nurture the freedoms it represents as well as the responsibilities it requires.

Your website generously offers us the opportunity to receive all communication in Spanish. ARE YOU KIDDING??? Someone has broken into our ‘house’, invaded our home without our invitation or consent. The President has insisted we keep the perpetrator in comfort and learn the perp language so we can communicate our reluctant welcome to them.

I DON’T choose to welcome them.

I DON’T choose to support them.

I DON’T choose to educate them.

I DON’T choose to medicate them, pay for their food or clothing.

American home invaders get arrested.

Please explain to me why foreign lawbreakers can enjoy privileges on American soil that Americans do not get?

Why do some immigrants have to play the game to be welcomed and others only have to break & enter to be welcomed?

We travel for a living. Walt hauls horses all over this great country, averaging over 10,000 miles a month when he is out there. He meets more people than a politician on caffeine overdose. Of all the many good folks he enjoyed on this last 10,000 miles, this trip yielded only ONE supporter of the current administration. One of us is out of touch with mainstream America . Since our poll is conducted without funding, I have more faith in it than one which is power driven.

We have decided to forward this to everyone on our mailing list, and will encourage them to do the same. With several hundred in my address book, I have every faith that the eventual exponential factor will make a credible statement to you.

I am disappointed.

I am scared.

I am MAD, and I’m NOT gonna take it anymore!

Survivor Details Massacre of 72 Migrants by Drug Cartel in Mexico

28 08 2010

From the AP:

MEXICO CITY — A wounded migrant stumbled into a military checkpoint and led marines to a gruesome scene, what may be the biggest massacre so far in Mexico’s bloody drug war: a room strewn with the bodies of 72 fellow travelers, some piled on top of each other, just 100 miles from their goal, the U.S. border.

The 58 men and 14 women were killed, the migrant told investigators Wednesday, by the Zetas cartel, a group of former Mexican army special forces known to extort migrants who pass through its territory.

If you read the entire article you come away with more questions than answers. Like what Marines? Does Mexico even have Marines? And, where were they migrating too? Oh, and by the way, our government trained the Zeta’s. WWhat a wonderful world we live in.

‘Everybody Draw Muhammad Day’ Advocate Rattled by Death Threats

22 07 2010

From Fox News:

The creator of a now-defunct “Everybody Draw Muhammad Day” page on Facebook fears she may be targeted for death now that the cartoonist who launched the online campaign has been placed on an execution list by a radical Yemeni-American cleric.

The 27-year-old Facebook page creator — a Canadian woman who asked not to be identified due to fears of reprisal — told FoxNews.com that she was visited at her home last week by Royal Canadian Mounted Police officials who advised her to remove her page and not to talk to reporters. This was reported on July 12th and by July 16th a new terrorist was added to a terror watch list. Now, if that helps this woman or not, I have no idea because the world is so lax when it comes to war on terror.
“I’m scared,” she said. “I’m scared that somebody might kill me.”

The woman created her version of “Everybody Draw Muhammad” in late April, days after a Seattle cartoonist launched the online campaign to protest Comedy Central’s censoring of an episode of “South Park,” in which the Prophet Muhammad was depicted wearing a bear costume. The Canadian woman said she will no longer act as the administrator of such a page.

“I just want to be quiet now,” she continued. “I wish I didn’t do this.”As part of “Inspire,” a 67-page English-language Al Qaeda magazine, Yemeni-American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki — who has been linked to the botched Times Square bombing and cited as inspiration for the Fort Hood massacre and the plot of two New Jersey men to kill U.S. soldiers — targeted the Seattle cartoonist for “assassination,” along with others who have participated in her campaign.

Then this happened.
From The AP:

WASHINGTON — The United Nations has added U.S.-born radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki to its terrorist list, requiring member countries to freeze his assets and ban his travel.

The action follows a similar move by the U.S. Treasury Department last week, and underscores the growing threat officials believe al-Awlaki represents as a terror recruiter and planner.

Based in Yemen, al-Awlaki has taken on a greater role with al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, leading to his placement earlier this year on a secret U.S. government list of terror targets to be captured or killed, according to U.S. officials.

Administration’s ‘Silent Raids’ Lead to Firings, Not Deportations

11 07 2010

Yea, this administration is so much fun! They really respect the constitution and the rule of law! Whoo, Hoo!!!

The Obama administration’s new approach to dealing with companies that hire illegal immigrants results in firings, not deportations, the New York Times reported Friday.

Instead of immigration sweeps at factories and farms which used to lead to illegal workers being shipped out of the country, the administration’s new policy—government conducted audits labeled “silent raids” by employers—usually only result in the workers losing their jobs, the Times said.

The Times article comes just over a week after the president delivered his highly anticipated speech on immigration reform, which was criticized on both ends of the political spectrum.

In these audits, federal agents examine company records to find illegal workers on the payroll, forcing “businesses to fire every suspected illegal immigrant… not just those who happened to be on duty at the time of a raid,” the Times said. This makes it more difficult for companies to hire undocumented workers to fill these positions in the future, the article explained.

These audits reach more companies than the Bush raids, employers said. This year alone, Immigration and Customs Enforcement have facilitated the firing of thousands of immigrants and “levied a record $3 million in civil fines,” the Times reported. This current policy is a contrast to the Bush-era work-site roundups where undocumented employees were deported en masse. It also represents the current government opinion that treating the nation’s 11 million illegal immigrants as criminals would overwhelm the system.

First, every place in this article that they state “Immigrants” or “Illegal Immigrants” insert- “Illegal Aliens”. Which is the legal term for non-citizens under Federal law. Second, how in all that is holy does this help? Where will all these displaced workers go, pray-tell? And how much money were the companies fined? Can they stay in business as a result? Don’t get me wrong, I hate companies that hire illegal alien invaders, especially when there are so many Americans are out of work. But, useless raids that waste tax payer dollars and put non-citizens on unemployment is ludicrous. Cause you know, that is where they are ending up. And by the by, every time a business is raided and the Illegals are ousted, Americans take the jobs that Americans do not want. Brilliant!

17 caught in search for deputy’s attackers

7 05 2010

While Rome Burns all the Liberals and Commies are playing the violin for all these poor, poor Illegal Aliens.
From KTAR.com :

PHOENIX – Authorities have captured 17 suspected illegal immigrants in southern Arizona as they continued their manhunt Saturday for smugglers who they say shot and wounded a sheriff’s deputy in a remote desert area 50 miles south of Phoenix.
Pinal County sheriff’s Lt. Tamatha Villar says the three matched descriptions given by the sheriff’s deputy who was grazed by a bullet fired by a group of about five smugglers Friday afternoon.

I am sorry people, we are being invaded and I think that Mexico is declaring war on these United States of America. Too harsh. Bull, our citizens are being killed and kidnapped, our police are getting shot at, and our border towns are being overrun. What would the brave men that died at the Alamo have to say about this situation? Now do you understand why the State of Arizona enacted their new illegal immigration law? They are under attack.

Obama Gives Unions a ‘Massive Payback’ with Executive Order, Contractors Claim

3 05 2010

This is one of the most important blog posts that I feel I have ever done. This is a dangerous executive order. And mind you, this executive order was issued April of 2009, just five short months into his term in office.
from CNSNews.COM

The nation’s non-union contractors, who constitute the bulk of the construction industry, say President Obama has given a “massive payback” to unions by implementing an executive order that would help them secure billions of dollars in construction contracts on public projects — and a House Republican congressman agrees.

The executive order, implemented in mid-April, encourages federal agencies to use “project labor agreements” or PLAs on their construction projects, which could require any non-union workers to pay into ailing union pension funds and follow work guidelines set out by a union.

You have got to read the whole thing, and get “the rest of the story”. This is truly disturbing. And how is this going to affect “illegals” in the construction industry one has to ask? Please pass this information forward.

L.A. mayor calls for temporary shutdowns of some agencies

14 04 2010

Both the city council and the mayor are to blame. Our elected officials are out of control, no matter where they hold power. Time to kick them all out and start over.
From the Latimes:

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa called for shutting down non-essential agencies two days a week Tuesday as he and City Council members remained locked in a standoff over the intertwined issues of electricity rates and the city’s worsening budget shortfall.
Villaraigosa’s action topped another day of threats and name-calling at City Hall.

Good, shut them down, less government is better government.

The latest escalation of the financial crisis began Monday when the Department of Water and Power took steps to withhold a promised $73.5-million payment to the city’s depleted treasury.

Villaraigosa blamed the action on the council’s rejection of an electricity rate increase, which DWP officials said was necessary to cover the DWP’s fluctuating fossil fuel costs and the mayor’s renewable energy agenda.

As for the renewable energy agenda, the start up cost for renewable energy is staggering. I know, because we are just starting to find that out, here on the Uncooperative Mountain. It’s really expensive to buy the equipment that is needed to do this, so if they can’t pay their regular bills, how do they pay to revamp the grid? And here is another question to ponder; how much of the budget goes to the care of Illegal Alien Invaders and their families?

Sen. Graham: Obamacare Doomed Immigration Bill

6 04 2010

From NewsMax.com;

Lindsey has crossed party lines to work with Democrats several times, most recently to hammer out a bipartisan deal with Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., on creating a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants. Some 12 million illegal aliens are believed to reside illegally in the United States.

According to Politico.com, Graham said that when he met with Schumer and the president to negotiate terms on immigration earlier this month, he expressed “In no uncertain terms, my belief that immigration reform could come to a halt for the year if health care reconciliation goes forward.”

House OKs illegal immigration measure

29 03 2010

You go Arizona!!

From The East Valley Tribune:

Without a word of debate, the House on Tuesday gave preliminary approval to a series of changes in state law designed to combat illegal immigration.

HB 2632 would allow police to arrest anyone who is in this country illegally and charge them with trespass, a state offense. That is designed to ensure that officers have clear legal authority to detain illegal immigrants.

This is what the American people have to do. Don’t wait for the Federal government to take care of you. Although, the constitutional role of the government is to protect its people from invasion. But they are not doing it, so we have to.
Take your states back people, take them back.

Immigration rally draws thousands to Washington

24 03 2010

It didn’t take them long, did it? And it was not an “immigration rally”, it was an “illegal alien invasion” rally. That is what we call it on our radio show, The Uncooperative Radio Show.

From CNN:

Washington (CNN) — Tens of thousands of people turned out on Washington’s National Mall on Sunday to support the Obama administration in its next big battle, a renewed effort to overhaul U.S. immigration laws.

Speaking by video to the crowd, President Obama said he would do “everything in my power” to get a bipartisan deal within the year.

“You know as well as I do that this won’t be easy, and it won’t happen overnight,” Obama said. “But if we work together across ethnic, state and party lines, we can build a future worthy of our history as a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws.”

Obama’s appearance was followed by comments from Gustavo Torres, executive director of the Baltimore-based immigrant advocacy group CASA de Maryland. Torres told the crowd, “Mr. President, we are going to hold you accountable.”

Yes, Mr. President, a nation of laws that these people don’t give a rat’s ass of upholding. Congratulations!!!!

Comprehensive Amnesty Threat

15 03 2010

From NumbersUSA:

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), who also serves on the House Immigration Subcommittee, responded to Thursday’s immigration reform meeting at the White House by calling for more immigration enforcement. Rep. King also joined the recently formed Reclaim American Jobs Caucus.

“If President Obama is serious about addressing the immigration issue, he needs to focus on the millions of Americans who are out of work or worried about losing their jobs,” said Rep. King. “This is the time for the Obama administration to accelerate enforcement of immigration laws to make room for unemployed Americans — not grant amnesty.”

I agree. We also need to seal both borders, continue the raids on businesses that hire illegals, and when an illegal is found, not only send them back to wherever they came from, but send their families with them. That way we are not being cruel by separating families. They can go with the illegal and live happily ever after.

67% Say Illegal Immigrants Are Major Strain on U.S. Budget

3 03 2010

I know this article has a lot of stats in it but it is very interesting

From rasmussenreports.com

As the country wrestles with a future of historic-level deficits, 67% of U.S. voters say that illegal immigrants are a significant strain on the U.S. budget.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 23% disagree and do not believe illegal immigration is a strain on the budget.

Two-out-of-three (66%) voters say the availability of government money and services draw illegal immigrants to the United States. Nineteen percent (19%) think otherwise and do not believe government money and services are a magnet for illegal immigration. Another 15% are not sure.

Your just not hearing this from the Lame Stream Media.

3 Homeland Security computers lost daily

1 03 2010

From WorldNetDaily

Federal documents obtained under a Freedom of Information Act request reveal that two divisions of the Department of Homeland Security – charged with assuring the integrity of U.S. borders and the safety of residents – lost nearly three computers every day for a year.

But an official statement assures citizens that no “sensitive” data was lost.

A report on the computers, which were designated as “lost” or “not found during physical inventory,” was issued by the Independence Institute in Golden, Colo., after it obtained the federal paperwork.

Federal agencies also “lost” several computer switches valued at some $90,000 apiece and a multitude of vehicles, including a truck worth about $116,000.

But Jon Caldara, president of the institute, said the absence of documentation about the information on the missing computers
is what is most alarming.

Now, the article goes on to say “there’s no need to be alarmed, “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain”. This administration is a piece of work. Well all bureaucracies really. When I worked for the state as a Nursing supervisor, five years ago, they bought all new computers for every department, but they did not wipe the hard drives clean so everyone’s passwords and any personal information that you were stupid enough to store on, said hard drive, went out into the public. Nice huh?
Not only did they use your tax dollars to update the computers, but they had to hire people to get the computers back and wipe the hard drives.
I love the government.

The report by the Independence Institute’s Todd Shepherd revealed that for fiscal year 2008, inventories from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Customs and Border Protection divisions show employees collaborated to lose no fewer than 985 computers.

Last week on our radio show; the UncooperativeRadio show. We reported that The Department of Homeland Security was loosing firearms as well. What the Hell?

Gates: Military can help Mexico in drug war

15 03 2009

Susan here again. After you read this, ask yourself; Where’s The Fence???

From the Washington Times:

The U.S. military is in a better position to provide Mexico’s military with training, resources and intelligence as its southern neighbor battles deadly drug cartels, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said.

More than a thousand people have been killed in Mexico in drug-related violence this year. In 2008 the toll doubled from the previous year to 6,290. Both the United States and Canada have warned that murders related to drug activity in certain parts of Mexico, particularly along the border with the United States, raised the level of risk in visiting the country.

“I think we are beginning to be in a position to help the Mexicans more than we have in the past. Some of the old biases against cooperation with our — between our militaries and so on, I think, are being set aside,” Mr. Gates said in an interview aired Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Free Health Care for Illegal Aliens Needs Improvement, Some in Congress Say

4 03 2009

From CNSNews:

Free health care provided to illegal aliens detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement needs to be investigated and improved, some members of a congressional Homeland Security panel said on Tuesday, despite testimony that the number of detainee deaths is way down and that health screenings have saved lives.

Now your all saying it is our responsibility to take care of these people because we detained them, I can hear ya’all saying that.

Capt. Jose Rodriguez, director of the U.S. Public Health Service’s Division of Immigration Health Services, testified that each individual taken into ICE custody is given a verbal health screening and is tested for tuberculosis within 12 hours. Dental exams also are provided, and women ages 10 to 55 are given pregnancy tests at the initial health screening.

The dental screening is a bit over the top since most health care plans for working citizens of this great United States do not include dental plans. The rest I agree with, especially testing for TB. A disease that all these Illegal Aliens are bringing back into the U.S. And get a load of these numbers.

Witness Jim Hayes, director of ICE’s Office of Detention and Removal Operations, told the subcommittee that of the more than 1.7 million people who have been in ICE custody since its inception in 2003, 90 individuals have died.

1.7 million illegals, and that’s only the ones we know about and caught! I wonder what they do with the babies of the illegals that these women have while in detention? Do they ship them back to their country of origin with their mothers. I doubt it.

Adios, Calderon

20 02 2008

Mexicos’ president is home after spending 5 days here in the U.S.
supposedly to view the illegal alien problem from our point of view but
actually to attempt to interfere in our political processes and tell us
that we must accept an open invasion from Mexico and support the
Mexican economy.

Republican congressman and former presidential candidate Tom Tancredo
reprimanded visiting Mexican President Felipe Calderon, yesterday in a
letter sent to the Mexican Embassy, for meddling in U.S. affairs,
telling him he should focus on his country’s own problems instead of
“encouraging illegal immigration.”

Calderon told the California Legislature on Wednesday that Mexico
and the United States “will never find prosperity by closing their
doors.”

Tancredo says he appreciates Calderon’s concern for joint
prosperity, but wrote that Mexico’s economic and social ills can’t be
resolved by exporting its citizens to the U.S.

In Cambridge, Mass., Mr. Calderón stressed the importance of transforming “Mexico from a nation that loses its best people to migration
into a nation capable of generating opportunity for Mexicans on their
own soil.” Then he went on to say “I need to change Mexico’s perception
that the Americans are the enemies, and it’s important to change the
perception that the Mexicans are the enemy,” he said.

I have to ask… if America is “the enemy” as Calderon says, then why
are so many Mexicans coming here? This perception that we are the enemy
is deliberately fostered by Calderon himself. The perception we have of
the Mexicans being the enemy is the only valid one. We aren’t pouring
into Mexico in violation of their very strict and punitive border laws and taking away their jobs and their money, and committing all sorts of violent and heinous crimes. But they are doing that here!
And excuse me but if that motley horde of rapists and grape pickers,
many of whom have never used a flush toilet, is Mexicos’ “best people”,
I would hate to meet their worst. Who does he think he’s kidding?

Of course Mexicans are perceived as the enemy. They wage border wars
over drugs and attack our Border Patrol agents who try to keep out the
smugglers, while their own corrupt government urges them on and lodges
diplomatic complaints when we act in our own defense. The Mexican
government does all it can to prevent us from enforcing our laws, and
then Calderon has the gall to tell us how to run Our Country?

They weren’t real happy with him back in Mexico, either. The
influential, left-leaning Mexico City daily La Jornada said Mr.
Calderón’s trip was “marked by gaffes and deficiencies, from the
unexplained exclusion of the national and international press to the
shameful incident” in which a briefing at a Starbucks, arranged by Mr.
Calderón’s press office, ended abruptly when employees asked the
entourage to leave because they were disrupting service to customers.

That had to hurt. The president of Mexico getting kicked out of a
Starbucks. He went home without getting the traditional handshake from
our president, as well.

The best parts of his visit are that at least he came over here legally, and then he went back to Mexico.

Oh the Irony–Mexico is Having Problems Re-Absorbing It’s Citizens

20 01 2008

Cross posted from Miss Beth’s Victory Dance

Arizona had an interesting law go into effect January 1, 2008. It’s called the Employer Sanctions Law and requires ALL employers to verify ALL employees are United States citizens. In anticipation of this law going into effect, many illegals from the Tucson and Phoenix areas “self-deported” with their families right around Christmas (normally, the illegals would pack up the family and cross back “home” to visit with the family and then come back here). In anticipation of the new law, the border was full with the illegals moving home.

Well. That’s a good thing.

Then, we have several businesses in Phoenix going belly up and declaring bankruptcy. Three reasons–1) the Employer Sanctions Law; 2) the businesses catered to illegals (who are self-deporting) and 3) if the businesses didn’t specifically cater to illegals, they hired illegals.

This is also a good thing.

Here’s the ironic part…Mexico has issues with the Employer Sanction Law. Mexico is concerned it can’t handle the influx of it’s own citizens back into their home country.

According to a January 4, 2008 AP article entitled “Mexico Criticizes Arizona Employer Sanctions Law” here,

“Measures like the one approved in Arizona do not contribute to solving the issue of migration by workers between the two countries, and ignore the contributions that migrants make to the U.S. economy and society,” Mexico’s Foreign Relations Department said.

and:

The Mexican government considers migration an unavoidable phenomenon given the higher wages in the United States. It strongly opposes tightened U.S. controls such as border fences, and instead wants temporary work-visa programs and legalization of workers in the United States.

Well, what can you expect from a country whose main export is its own citizens? It gets better, folks.

Two articles in Arizona papers today (although I first heard this on the 5:30 p.m. news last night while waiting for my daughter’s softball game to finish).

The first article was published by the Tucson Citizen, Sheryl Kornman reporting and is titled “Sonoran Officials Slam Sanctions Law In Tucson Visit”. The opening paragraphs of this article read:

A delegation of nine state legislators from Sonora was in Tucson on Tuesday to say Arizona’s new employer sanctions law will have a devastating effect on the Mexican state.

At a news conference, the legislators said Sonora – Arizona’s southern neighbor, made up of mostly small towns – cannot handle the demand for housing, jobs and schools it will face as illegal Mexican workers here return to their hometowns without jobs or money.

a few more tidbits:

“How can they pass a law like this?” asked Mexican Rep. Leticia Amparano Gamez, who represents Nogales.

and:

“Mexico is not prepared for this, for the tremendous problems” it will face as more and more Mexicans working in Arizona and sending money to their families return to hometowns in Sonora without jobs, she said.

and the money quote from this article:

“What do we do with the repatriated?” he asked. “As Mexicans, we are worried. They are Mexicans but they are also people – fathers and mothers and young people with jobs” who won’t have work in Sonora.”

Then, there’s this article from Channel 12 News (NBC Affiliate, Phoenix), Melissa Gonzalo reporting and titled “Sonoran Legislators Oppose Employer Sanctions Law” .

Sonoran legislators from Mexico’s PAN democratic party said their state is not prepared for a mass return of Mexican nationals. They met with Arizona legislators at the State Capitol Wednesday morning. They said they understand the reasons for the employer sanctions law, but said they don’t think all the consequences were taken into account.”We are concerned because probably we won’t be able to have all the resources to help in case the amount of people are too many people,” said coordinator of the group, Florencio Diaz Armenta. The delegation from Sonora said they cannot quantify how many people have returned to their state from Arizona, so far. But they said, based on anecdotal information, they know there are two groups returning- day laborers and professionals.

Armenta said Mexico does have a plan in place to help those immigrants returning to their country, but he said it is not enough. He said they plan on continuing to engage in open dialogue with Arizona lawmakers in hopes of reaching an agreement. “There is a history of relationship between the states Arizona and Sonora,” said Armenta. “We have families on both sides, so we have to worry about what happens on both sides of the border.” He said they hope to invite Arizona legislators to meet in Sonora the next time.

The delegation from Sonora also met with LULAC in Tucson.

My take on this? Mexico didn’t think Arizona would follow through. Now, Mexico (the country whose main export is its people) has to find a way to solve their own problems with their own people–and they don’t like it. They are having to deal with the same problems (on a significantly smaller scale at this point) the United States has had to deal with in absorbing their citizens into our country. They are, quite simply, going to have to find solutions to deal with their citizens. They’re going to have to work on their economy, work on their infrastructure, all the things that make a country. They’re not going to be able to count on the illegal earnings flowing back to them from the United States. That money flow is drying up.

And it’s not just Arizona enforcing the laws. Tulsa, Oklahoma is enforcing as well. From World Net Daily, we see this headline (article postes August 25, 2007): “Mandatory Deportation Has Illegals On The Run” with the subtitle of “State Law Limiting Benefits Looms, and Estimated 25,000 Take to Road”. The money quote from this article is here:

“This isn’t about whether you are for or against immigration, or for or against immigrants. It doesn’t matter what your skin color is or if you speak with an accent. What matters is if you are in the country legally or illegally. The only people threatened by House Bill 1804 are those who choose to break the law,” he said.

Expect more whining from Mexico and racist groups such as Aztlan and La Raza. Laws are being enforced, sanctuary cities are rescinding their sanctuary stand (Phoenix for example) and the illegals are peaceably self-deporting.

It’s about time.
